Friends in some detail

Timothy Feldon

TF ran away from his home because of an abusive family life. He fled interstate winded up in the 'hood with the rest of the gang. When DMS took over, TF felt stuff was getting too serious and he split with Cas.

TF is being trained by Cas in things that thwap people. Despite this, TF treats Cas as his student. Lately TF has noticed that Cas is being drawn towards the Dark Side. He knows that he has has bugger all chance of bringing her back by any means but subtle manipulation.

TF often has bruises round his eyes and knuckles from his 'training'. Likes to talk in vague starwars quotes.

TF is convinced he has seen 'The Force' in action and he has become a believer. Everyone else thinks he is a weirdo.

• TF knows that there is good and evil and all the shades in between. TF sees that his destiny is to direct Cas to the light side of the force.
• TF knows there is darkness and evil in the world but if he tells anyone that they will think he is mad. MAD?!?!?!? Can you believe it. Pass the light saber.

• He isn't a threat. He knows I'm the boss.
• TF seems to be trustworthy and is happy to do stuff for me.
• TF is a weirdo, but in a nice way.

Sarah

Always quiet and jumpy around strangers and numbers of people. Sarah rarely speaks to anyone by TF and Cas. Her voice is "white bread" and very well educated, but she wont talk about her past. Sarah stays almost 100% at Cas's place and does most the work round the place to earn her board.

Noone knows where Sarah comes from or why she ran away and she isn't willing to talk about it. Sarah is shy and gentle and doesn't actually fit into the street life very well. TF and Cas tend to be protective of her and keep her under their wings.

Sarah is actually very intelligent and perceptive but she is also massively shy and withdrawn.

Will Palmer

Fixer has street Cred and it shows. He has business contact and can get most things on order, given a couple of days. Fixer has been trying to convince Cas that she can make lots of Green by using her 'Kung Foo sheeeeet' to break a few heads for some of his friends or even act as body guard on some questionable business deals.

Will knows that Cas would be a great asset to him on the street. Cas' abilities would mean that no one in this area would screw with him and if he did hook her then he would get Cred for snatchin' DMS' honey. Cas lives in a slum and takes crap jobs. Maybe the lure of the green can get her on side (and away from that TF freak). Will knows not to push it or might end up in hospital.

• Cas split from DMS after their relationship got sweaty so he wont get involved like that in case he messes his chances of getting her to work for him (although it would almost be worth it).
• Will knows that if he could get Cas on side then his rise on the street would be assured. For Will, Cas would be both an amazing trophy as well as an amazing useful weapon.
• Cas gets that green monster jealousy look when I flash my ice and new threads. Maybe the girl needs some green.

• Will's a player. He's got all the cool stuff. Bastard. Gotta be careful of him. But on the other hand he knows how to make the green.
• He isn't a physical threat. I could snap those designer covered limbs in 5 seconds.
• He IS threat to my lifestyle. I have to watch that he doesn't rip me off or suck me into his trouble. (Although he knows I will break him in two if he did).
• His job offers are getting tempting.
• He touches me and he is dead. (I've seen him stare at me with that look. Like to see the weasel try... Although he'd be good at supplyin' me with some luxuries. Hmmm. Maybe I should listen more...)

DJ Scratch

DJS's obsession started when he was scratchin' at a party and suddenly he noticed that everyone was dancing and bouncing. Before DJS was playing the party was dead. He realized that his choice of music had created this vibe and he became obsessed with doing it again.

He started to learn hiphop DJing and around this time he met Cas and a few others of the gang. Whenever he played, Cas would always be on the dance floor bouncing away. DJS saw this and used her as a catalyst to get party's bouncing.

DJS sometimes DJ's at one of the clubs that Cas bounces's at. He plays mostly dance and industrial stuff. DJS is obsessed with creating 'The Vibe' or sweeping up the club with musical energy.

These days DJS tries to get Cas on the dance floor at the club when he DJ's although these days she is often busy prowling though the club in her bouncer roll. Still the few times that DJS has got the whole club going all night, Cas has been amongst the first to start dancing and, along with DJS, one of the last to stop moving.

DJS lives in an upper floor appartment in one of the slightly less dinjy parts of town. The appartment is filled with old vinal records and dead equipment. This is his retreat and he goes back there to immerse himself in music and do his remixes and testing of new musical masterpieces. Most of the other times he can be found at clubs setting up and testing and using their sound systems.

Dave Malcolm Stettner

DMS was an orphan and grew up on the streets and the gang became his family. An older gang member set him up on reading the works of philosophers and political leaders. DMS soaked it up and hasn't looked back.

DMS dropped out of school to hang with the gang, but he kept up his education on his own (with the help of Lucy and some of his old teachers). DMS turned out to be brilliant. He got his SAT scores and had enough to get into a uni, but refused to leave his homies. "'They' try and seduce the leaders and thinkers away, but we need leadership if we are to throw off the chains of those who would keep us down."

DMS's intelligence soon led him to challenge for pack leader, but he didn't have the physical strength. Soon his reading led him to have an epiphany. Individual power can't beat numbers! DMS started working to weld the younger posse into a support base and soon he had leadership of the posse.

A strong part of that base was Ice and Cas. Each was an amazing fighter and together they were a real force to be reckoned with. DMS and Cas started a whirlwind romance and things finally seemed to fall into place for all of the gang. Suddenly Cas split and Ice and DMS were left wondering what the hell happened.

DMS tries to hold the neighborhood and the posse together and to make them strong. He tries to keep the harder drugs out and to educate his homies. He helps Lucy with education programs but the two sometimes fight when it comes to young gang members futures.

• Knows the neighborhood inside out.
• Knows lots of political and philosophical stuff.
• Doesn't like TF much
• Knows he is smart and well read (and that people don't expect that of a homie).
• DMS knows that Cas' middle name is 'Daisy' and calls her 'CD'. He also knows that if he tells anyone Cas will kill him. People often ask him why, but he corrects him self quickly, "I mean CC!".
• Cas and he had something going, but then she packed up and spit. He has no idea why. He will go to quite a bit of effort to make sure Cas is OK and to find out why she split.

• DMS isn't a threat physically. I'm stronger and he isn't the sort of person to ever threaten a sister like that. Anyway, he has this weird loyalty that means I don't think he would ever fight me.
• I'm not sure I could bring myself to hit him with his Gandhi mother *#&$ing outlook. I know he wouldn't fight back if I did have to crack him open. That worries me.
• DMS is amazingly smart. A lot smarter than me and that makes me uneasy. Err, lets talk about something else.
• He is a threat emotionally. DMS likes me and wants me (hey, get in line). Trouble is I could... I want... Naaa. I'm splitting.
• Could be family. I'm feelin' uncomfortable. I'm out of here.

Ian Willstone

Icebergs parents split when he was young and he started spending more time with kids of his age especially DMS and, later, Cas. DMS's loyalty, leadership and intelligence made him the natural leader for Iceberg and the two soon became best friends.

Iceberg and Cas started to spa. Previously Ice had been unbeaten, but Cas was too quick for Ice and Ice was too strong for Cas. Over time the two of them became better close friends and they learned a lot from each other. Ice learned how to handle a more skilled and quicker opponent and Cas learned how to defeat a much stronger opponent.

Ice had met someone who was his equal and who he couldnt best and with all the time Cas and he spent together, he started to fall for Cas. Cas didnt return his feelings, so he kept them to himself and just waited.

DMS uses Ice to keep the posse and the 'hood in check and to lean on anyone who needs it. Ice acts offensive and gruff, but underneath he is a nice bloke. He visits his mother at least weekly and brings her shopping and some cash.

When DMS and Cas were an item, Ice would often come along for the ride and Ice was overcome by this weird feeling that he hadn't experienced before. Later he worked out that it felt like family. Ice thinks that he doesn't have any chance with Cas, but that DMS and Cas should be together, and then he can look after the two of them. He doesn't understand why they split up and wants them to get back together. He is a soft romantic at heart.

• Underneath he is too nice to actually be much of a threat. He has a gruff exterior, but underneath he is soft and fluffy.
• Ice is dependable and loyal. I'm glad to be his friend, although he gets a little intense sometimes.
• He is 100% behind DMS. Those to are like the brothers I'd rather have had. Errr. I'm out of here. Lets go party.

Sgnt Laurence Harrison

Laurence has been in this neighborhood all his life as a cop. When he got too old to patrol he took a desk job in the local station. From there he has feelers out through the whole neighborhood. He tries his hardest to keep major trouble from starting and his efforts have earned him lots of respect.

DMS and Laurence are often at odds over illegal goings on and gang activity in the area. DMS is better than the previous gang leader, but he is also more dangerous because he is educating his gang with some dangerous knowledge.

• Lucy is good for the hood. Laurence will do anything he can to help Lucy and keep her here helping the kids.

• Old and slow. I could "pop a joint" easy. But he's an Stormtrooper and that means trouble. Better hit light speed.
• Seems OK for an Oldie. I'll crack him open if he threatens me or DMS.
• He's the heat and he works for The Man. DMS says people like him keep the brothers and sisters down so the white-breads can have their Volvo's and all.
• He seems fair and understanding when I get dragged in for poppin' some moron's head open at the club. He says that it isn't good work for a lady, which is charming, but I bet he'd rather I was at home in the kitchen looking after the rug rats or something 50's like that.

Lucy Colston

Lucy is a social worker with the driving conscience and work ethic. Most people give up and move on, but Lucy keeps trying by bringing educational programs and activities to the 'hood. Her efforts have saved a fair number of the kids here and she had put in an word for most of the kids when they get in trouble.

Her efforts have brought her to the attention of Sgnt Harrison who will do whatever he can to help her and support her efforts (even something outside the law). Harrison recognizes that she helps those kids not already in DMS's gang.

DMS and Lucy have an odd relationship because they mostly want the same thing for the hood, that is education and to help the people, but what they want to teach differs. The literacy and youth theater efforts they agree on 100% but DMS thinks that the only way out is for the posse to work together and stay together. Lucy tries to get people out of the slum and into a real job.

• She has a lot of respect from the kids in the area.
• Lucy has an amazing amount of influence with the parents in the area and could probably swing almost anything.

• She's helped some of the younger kids in the 'hood. Even ran interference to keep 'em out of trouble with the The Man. I wonder what she wants. I don't trust people that I don't understand.
• She stays out of my way, which is fine by me. She tried to get me a job doing something 'Normal' in some white-bread 'burb. If it was such a good job then why didn't she want it?!? Gotta be better than workin' here.
• DMS thinks she's ok, so I guess she's fine with me.
