Plot/todo wise.
* I wanna ring the tyre gettin' dude and see how much for the gun.
I would be interested in getting it early in the morning the next day with
the cash from the wallet, but.......
* i wanna ring CJ (the cop) first and say that i may need to call on her
if things go wrong. "Im just trying to keep the Doc out of trouble,
if this isnt important enough for you to cover for me then I guess
I shouldnt be trying...."
* I wanna get ICE and DMS to check to see if im being followed (say
get them to stake out a road/alley and then see if im being followed
(the old wacko said we were being watched)).
* Id like to try and get the name of the dishwasher (not high priority).
* If doc gives me the slip then i will stalk "Red" (Jo) instead.
* Id like to return the wallet with some cash in it....
If I can safely get the gun then I will (cam doesnt have enough streetwise to
know how safe that is). If I can, ill grab it and stash it somewhere
safe for a bit. Otherwise ill wait. if I do get the gun and i know it
hasnt been used then I may carry it, otherwise I stash it.
Then I wanna go see the Doc and tell him that he should hire me.
Ill stalk him first (i probably know his home address from his
licence, and Im assuming his work from a business card). Id like to
get up crack of dawn and scope out his home. Then maybe follow him to
work (hard without wheels).
Once have a feel for him, I was going to drop in to see him at his
medical place (probably pretend to be some rich lawers junky kid or
somethin') and see how he feels about some protection. :)
'I mean, ill be more use to you than the Barbie outside who answers
your phone. Research assistant. Sounds like a good title ;).'
I think, that given:
* I could make his life unpleasant by making it know that we sleep
together (a lie, but hey ;), I have witnesses that we met for
dinner (including a cop ;) and Im sure that his wife would enjoy
having 1/2 of this medical place in a divorce settlement ;)
* plus if that did start to circulate and then his wife was shot and
injured by his 'stolen' gun im sure the cops would believe it
wasnt him.. yeah. sure.
So obviously Im not trying to blackmail him or he'd be sweating
now. Now about that job...
I was figuring good salary, enough for wheels, a nice place and some
small toys. And it means that he can call on me 24/7 if he needs his
hand held ;). Dial a heavy. :)
But thats just my current thinking. :) Feel free to change this stuff.
I mean ill follow him until I feel i know him. If he goes from
home to work then thats probably enough. If I see something weird I
may tail him some more. :) Whatever suits the story ;) (we are still
starting, so im happy to be oblidging ;).

Can you e-mail that to me?
My initial take is that you are going to have to watch out when trying to
"leverage" Renee with threats. He/Andre doesn't seem to like that style. I
don't know if Cas can pick up on that, or make another plan. But I would
think that something that demonstrated her use, without being linked to
her, would do a lot more.
Renee is reading all flustered and put upon. Something's obviously
bothering him, and he'd not really able to deal with it. He *does* have
some problem, but as lont as he feels boxed in or manipulated he doesn't
seem willing to listen. That's the way he was with the woman, anyway -
he kept talking about how he was not going to listen and asking why he
was being manipulated. She read him wrong that way, perhaps. Do the same
thing and he'll drop you just as fast.
You need an openning. How long are you willing to wait, and/or work, before he
takes you on? Checking for someone keeping an eye on you is one thing, but what
if you make a careful check on his life and see if he *is* in danger? You'd have
to be very very sure of not getting caught, as he will freak if he thinks you
are dangerous to him...

Oh Im happy to make another plan, but I think Cas (because of her flaws etc)
has to come at him from a position of power. I agree that the 'hire me' one
is pushy and im happy to drop it (its still a backup should she start
working for him and then he gets narky).
Cas does have sense weakness too ;) (which I guess would help say 'thats not
it' ;)
Im willing to use the two days to follow him and maybe also "Red" too.
If she could scum a bike for a couple of days then she could tail him easily.
(I hope ;) and I think she'd be willing to burst in if he got in trouble
(although you have to be carful about using physical threat
against him too Id think ;)

You are going to deal with whether you are being followed
first right? On the first morning.

Yep. Sure. I figure get somewhere in the 'hood where to one street
leads to many. Get someone to watch that street and then cas goes down
it. See if anyone
follows and stuff. Im sure DMS could work something out. Hes a smart
lad ;)
(Im assuming that she is thinking physically followed, so magical or
high tech wouldnt be spotted.) DMS may think to check the phone and
phone junctions for wire taps and stuff, but Cas wouldnt.
If/when I do start stalking the Doc, then Id be checking him out for
tails too.

TF is not a whole lot of help, but he's probably keen.
Is not too hard for you to work out that on the Thursday morning (at
least), there is someone keeping a sort of loose track of you. Fits in
well in the area - not an obvious plant; late 20s, perhaps, confident on
the street, lounges well. His observations are not close, and not too
detailed. He simply seems to hang around where you are. Not obviously
watching at all. He's not following so close that you can snag him in
an alley. But he turns up where you end up, eventually. You can try to
snag him up, or lose him, or ignore him.
I should point out, it takes work to make sure he's even there. Its very
very loose coverage. Red or Renee would not have noticed such a tail.
The street kid with the info on the stolen stuff from the car says/said
he can find out where the gun is. Did you ask him to locate it? The
CD player? Or do you now what to contact him and ask? It seems pretty
defensible that he wasn't directly involved. With a good looking car
like that, its a no-brainer to hang around and see if you can get some
green for pointing in the right direction, at least if the situation
seems right.

Yeah. I figure that TF will try but probably not spot anything.
Thats cool. :)
Can Cas get wheels for a couple of days? If not then Ill be getting up early
and running to Doc's house to watch him. Either way, before I leave I will
pick 4 places that are sort of on the way and then get going. I will
try and lose any tail and randomly pick one place. Then I will go there and
wait and see if my tail finds me again.
Hey, i dont care if he was involved or not. :) Im just happy to pay him
some cash to get it back or help arrange that. (Cam isnt sure what the
street price of a stolen piece would be but im guessing that it wouldnt
be too much over $100 and i figure that Doc's cash and maybe some of mine would
cover that). More power to him. :)

Gun - just indicating that the kid doesn't have instant access. One
could try to "liberate" it if it hasn't been sold on to a dealer. Or
buy it back. Cost would probably be about $100 to buy it.
Oh, Renee must have a gun permit in his wallet as well. Allows him to
carry (not concealed) a small calibre handgun in his car and have it in
his house.
Public transport is cheap (it probably doesn't cost *you* anything). Its
also less hassle than filling a bike with gas, and making sure not to get
pulled over (no lisence, I'm guessing)... But you can probably get a bike
off someone for a return favour or something ("get me in next tuesday,
will ya?"), if you want it.
Either way, as far as you can tell, the tail is gone by the time you
get to the first place.

The tyre kid gave me his number for looking for the cd player, but
ill call it that night about purchasing back the gun. How much cash
is left in the wallet? Do I have to use any of my own?
Public transport. Ill take a bike and Ill get the owner in on
tuesday (to a nightclub I assume). If im going to follow Doc then
I cant use public transport.
Ill keep an eye out for the dude following me, especially before i
work at a Club (whenever that is ;). If I can spot the person
following me in the club, then Ill fake a 'drunk' and bounce him
out the back and go through his stuff.
Cool if the tail is gone. Race over to the Doc's place and follow him.
If he goes to work then ill ring and make an appointment for later in
the day. Then Ill go get the gun. Call "CJ" and "Red" and tell them
that I was being followed (roleplay on the night!?). Then ill visit
Doc and chat (see if his being followed helps convince him).
That assumes he doesnt go somewhere weird and need to be suddenly
rescued or anything silly like that ;). Or that the people who took it
dont contact him and try and sell him the gun back ;).

Background pretty much works. I might want to tweak bits. Or not. I'm
not sure I can see DMS as the Nubian leader and his immediately standing
up for Cas when she joined the group just because she's poor. I mean,
usually these types of leaders are passionate about how the white folk
take from the black. And poor white folk are on the rung just above the
blacks, and thus *are* a threat. Personally, I'd see her in with Ice,
with whom she might have taken up sparring after some initial clash that
didn't go as he expected. Then through that contact she has an in to DMS,
and perhaps demonstrates her usefulness when Ice offers her as someone
with skills that can be counted on. That sets Ice in the seat of the
"kingmaker" in the relationship, rather than either of the two active
characters (Cas and DMS). Which strengthens his meaning and function in
the trio.
Personally.

Kid gave you his numnber, eh? I guess he has access to a phone then! (answers
that question in my mind). "You wanna buy it back? Cost you 'bout $120, I
figure. But I don't know if it'll be for sale yet. You wanna know where it is
and get it you-self, cost you only $30, but it'll take me a bit to find out. I
know who to ask... Take me some time to catch up wit them."
Hmmm. I have a chronology problem here. You are being watched in the morning,
but you don't know for sure unless you take the time to check, and that takes
longer than you expect, as you can't be certain for a while. You also have to
call the kid, and he's no early riser. Anyway. then you got to get the bike,
and that's going to take a bit of talking and legging. I don't know that you
can *then* make it to the far north side (and lawyer-doctor land) in time to
catch Dr before he heads out to work. Simply too much ground to cover...
Enlightened is going to be a matter of perspective. He'll start to catch on more
as he sees people like Cas as being on the same side. But in this environment it
will take him a lot to pull out of the reverse racism. Granting him that to start
with is a bit much. Granting it to him now, at least in intent, sits ok with me,
as he's had some time and good examples to work with.
"Ahh, hello?"
"I see, you want an appointment with Dr. Saint-Clair? Ahhh, he doesn't really
do consultations that are not referred from other doctors. Perhaps you could talk
to your local Doctor? What sort of condition do you have?"

Um. yeah I thought he game me the number so I could call about the
Cd player. I could be wrong... :-/
(updated the background a bit.. reload and see if you want. Made it cas
and ice fight initially and then become friends. DMS's realisation comes
later just before he becomes gang leader, which I figure was about 1-2
years ago) (him being 19-20 then)
Time: thats cool.
Thinking about it I probably cant organise the
bike for tomorrow morning anyway (too late).
Ill steal 'The Falcon' (TF's skateboard) and head off early early and
do the check to see if im being followed thing. Given that takes more
time than I expect (and I expect Doc to goto work about 9) then I will
be late for that (and miss him unless he goes to work late). In that
case Ill knock on his door and ask if he is in (pretending to be a
messanger/courier). If he isnt there Ill scoot over to his work and
see if I can spot his car or something.
Ill check out the front of his place to see if anyone looks like they
are staking it out. Then I can organise the bike and ring the tyre
dude in the late morning/early arvo.
Then I might skate off and see "Red" or wait to tail Doc during his
lunch hour. (Assuming I dont get to see Doc or dont see anyone staking
out his place).
Ill make the phone call to try to make an appointment and then curse
and swear when that happens. :)
That better?
Well I changed when he thinks it, but im happy to leave his final
conclususions up to you ;)

Good rewrite.
The place Renee lives is a property. It has a long drive and stuff. I'm
not clear on whether it has a gate, and stuff, but its not impossible,
given that they have some big animals, and now a horse! Its going to
be imposing for someone like you to approach it. If you scale the fence
(not impossible) you'll be tresspassing if you are found, and not able to
say "I'm a courier". But something tells you that people who have this
sort of gate and all are going to want a coherent story if you knock on
it and say you are looking for him. Its a lot more than you might have
been expecting. Your whole block would probably fit on his property...
People don't seem to use skateboards out here. You feel very out of place.
People are watching you. You might even feel that you are leaving a trail on
the clean streets.

Cool. :)
Is a #*($&ing farm! For #*&$ sake... Ok. No boards?!? Sheesh! What do
people do for fun round here? Ok. I give up. Im feeling narky and
pissed off.
If I may quote from some faith fan fiction (she gets a snowball thrown
at her)
Staring back at the wide-eyed kid, she considered braining him with
his own weapon....
Nah. She was in a good mood, after all.
She dropped it to the ground and walked on, sparing him the concussion
he obviously deserved.
Ill give up and storm off at an unreasonable speed on the skateboard
and zip into the city to his place of work. Ill scope the joint. Then
Ill fail at the phone call and resist pulling the hand set out of the
phone. Just.
Then Ill wait for him to come out for lunch or ill go see red (if I
have time to do that and get back to catch him for lunch.). Your call ;)
depends on time (and your plot ;) :).
Still atleast im getting some exercise :)

I liked the 'weird matabilism' thing in some of the stories and I think
ill use it if thats cool with you (or pass it on to you to be annoying
with :-).
That is:
* fight, adrenalin, hyper, horny, hungry.
* gets hungry every few hours or after any exertion (which means
usually all the time).
* eats like a pig (sucks down junk food at a horrible rate)
"Um. lunch. 3 big macs. large coke."
* gets narky, twitchy and jumpy if she goes without action for too long.
(Runs, dances, picks fights and picks up guys to scratch her itch
(although stearing off the guys since DMS)).

His place of work turns out to be not that much in the city. Its a
kind of ritzy area with lots of buildings like his - sorta corporate
but not huge. All with a bit of space around them. Lots of trees and
stuff. Probably close to the lake. Did I mention the lake? :)
If they have car parking, its probably not on the street out here, as
there are not many cars on the street. There seems to be some sort of
car park around the back, and an underground park for the staff, perhaps.
If you hadn't caught on tha tthe name of the place is the Saint-Clair
Medical Facility, the sign on the front lawn might clue you in. It'd be
lit up at night...
you have had a bit of the phone call... the public phone is not too far
from the place. You might notice about then that the same car has gone
down the street about five times while you have been here. Not going
very fast.
Its taken a while to get here (given how far north his house ended up
being. ) lunch is not that far off. You could wait. You won't get back
to where red is unless you bail on Renee. Do you even know where Red is? I
think you know the eating place she recommended, but that's it about her.

Ill ride off and see if the car is following me or just circling.
Yeah, im probably sweaty and irratable given how much skating ive been
doing. Um. I know teh cop gave us her number, i dont think red did now you
mention it. Bugger.
Ok. Plan is now to see if the car is follwing me or circling the doc.
If its me, lose it and return and camp out somewhere out of sight to
spy on the doc when he goes to lunch (if I can) (which would probably mean
watching the front and the car park (although if its corperate then he
probably walks to some swish cafe near by)).
Maybe ill skate into him and tell him hes being followed (if the car isnt
follwing me).
I that doesnt pan out then I might try and skate over to see the cop
in the arvo and get back to try and follow the doc back home. :)
ok?

Car doesn't seem to care about you at all. It circles a few more times,
and then parks somewhere down the street for a while...
I'll have to pick this up from when Renee goes to lunch, if he does...
On the assumption that you get to CJ's precinct (which is, predictably,
not anywhere near this place) are you going to just walk into the building
and ask for her? Or call from nearby? Or watch?
The lake: its a major feature, runs all up and down next to the
city. A lot of this city is like Chicago (on Lake Michigan), but its not
Chicago... the lake is more healthy than the one near Chicago. Anyway,
the area where Renee has his place is convenient to the lake. I'd like
it to have lakeside views, but that's his call... :)

Thats cool about waiting for renee....
I want to be back by 4pm to stake out the carpark.
Id also like to do the skate like an idiot thing to see if
im being followed.
I think ill just call CJ from a pay phone about 10 mins skate from teh
doc's place.
Im happy to directly talk to CJ, she's a nark and i can deal with that.
This rich prat Doc boy is more of a puzzle.

Sorta hard to loose the lake once you have it in place... :)
Skate like an idiot? You didn't seem to be being followed at any point after
you left home and did some ducking and dodging. You've been pretty careful since
then and seen nothing other than this car to indicate anyone is taking notice of
anything. The car doesn't seem to care about you at all.
You want to call CJ before or after waiting on Renee for lunch? Affects whether
you might miss Renee leaving for lunch, or tap your toes for hours waiting for
him and miss CJ (which you could do at any time, having no idea of her whereabouts).
Oh, not a lot of 'borders around here, either, but its less residential, and you
probably don't feel eyes on you to quite the same extent.

Cool? Make it 2:30 actually.
(I will duck off and get a hot dog or somethin' at some stage)
I figure that it'd be hard to keep a good eye on the front and the car park
given that i dont know what he drives (i think andre said he took his wife's
car) so he coudl slip by me anyway (says cam to liam)
