Jayde is out patroling with michael when Alex rings and tells her about the knife. Apparently its mostly ok. It has a link to the demon mayor, but it isnt strong. It isnt draining Faith or controlling her, but they are researching breaking the links. The knife can protect the user, cut anything or let you fly.

"Ohhhhhhhhhhhh! I want!!!" Jayde drools.

17 Sep 2000, Sunday 8:09am, Bed

*knock*

Jayde rolls over and buries her head in her pillows. "Go away!"

"Michael is here for you, dear." Stella offers.

"Augh. FINE!" She drags herself out of bed and has a shower.

Jayde eventually appears and greets michael with a friendly, "WHAT?"

"Running. We should go for a run. Build up some stamina. Oh and I dont mean around an oval."

"mutter mutter"

Jayde and Michael run until the arvo, when Jayde heads home and goes to visit Gemma. Jayde pours out how sucky life is with noone to boss around and to make do all the icky jobs.

Gemma (and her wonderful head of hair) twitches.

Jayde bounces excitedly and chats with the nurse. It's a very good sign!! Yaaaaaay! Jayde calls everyone and her dad comes right over.

Jayde and Michael spar.

Alex explains that the demon dog that Mary found sounds like a dream wolf. It comes from a nightmare dimension and feeds on emotions of people. It isnt a native of this dimension and can travel between dimensions, but it must materialise to feed, so about 2am is probably the best time to go hunting it.

It has a bite as its main threat. It bites to feed (feed off the emotion) or to reproduce or attack. The attack bite can drag you into a nightmare pocket to fight on it's dream ground.

17 Sep 2000, Sunday 9:53pm, Patroling

Michael and Jayde are out patroling when they come across Mary walking down a dark area of park. A vamp appears out of the bushes and rushes Mary.

Jayde curses Mary and considers leaving her to her fate, but then how could she gloat?

Damn.

Jayde starts to go to the rescue, but Mary spins and pulls out Faith's knife and goes to stab the vamp. The vamp catches her hand, but mary over powers the vamp and plunges the knife into the vamp's heart and *poof*! Dust bunny.

Jayde shakes her head and blinks. Brain. Not. Working.

Casey comes flying out of the bushes and a vamp chases him out. Mary rushes over and quickly dispatches that vamp too.

Jayde offers a helpful.. "Errrr? Huh?"

"Jayde. Hi." Mary greets her.

"What are you doing out?"

"Patroling, silly." Mary giggles.

"I tried to tell her it was too soon. What with the stabbing and all, but you know how she is." Casey says seriously.

"No. No. It cant be."

Casey agrees, "Yes, I thought it was too soon too."

"This is, like, sooooooo wrong. I.. I.. have to go."

"Err. Ok." Says Mary.

Casey looks over at Mary. "It wasnt me was it? I mean I didnt even say anything about her shoes."

Michael catches up with Jayde. "Hey? Whats up?"

"Alex. Must see Alex now. Cant talk. Brain hurts."

"Huh?"

"Yeah."

Michael blinks too.

17 Sep 2000, Sunday 11:53am, Alex's office

"... Gaaaarrrr. Mary. Hell world. Wrong. Make it stop." Jayde finishes explaining. "This is a freaky Hell world where everything is wrong."

"Everything? I thought you said everything was the same except for Mary being the slayer."

"Yeah, thats bad enough!"

"Uh-huh..." Alex nods. "So dimension jumping then?"

Jayde pinches herself. "It must be. Pleeeeze! Pleasepleaseplease!"

Much discussion with Alex and Christian (who was the laptop using, techno dancing, newbie watcher in Jayde's world) the Watchers rule out Dimension Jumping, Posession, Cloning, Robots and all other manner of theories.

Alex almost gets killed for putting 'finger quotes' around "Your world".

The twin Watchers (of Jayde and Mary, obviously, they'd both need Watchers after all) call Henry and the other scoobies.

Everyone rolls up and its like a happy little book club for a while, except for Jayde who is gently rocking in her chair.

Mary does an aura reading, but everything looks fine. Council magic determines that this is the 'home' dimension of Jayde's body. Weird.

Chatting about the difference in the two worlds, it turns out that Mary killed the demon dog last night. She is the Slayer after all.

"In my dimension Faith is the Slayer and Mary is just this scooby."

Christian almost chokes "Faith is the Slayer? The girl who turned on Buffy and murdered to help the Mayor of Sunnydale become a demon?"

Jayde looks over to Mary, "Yeah, this is some sort of freaky Hell dimension! God! Please send me home!!"

"Back to where Faith is the slayer?"

"Yeah."

"Is Faith good?"

"Kinda. Sometimes. Well, no, not really."

Everyone looks uncomfortable with that thought.

People do more research.

"Ohhh, the knife! Faith's knife! Mary has Faith's knife!"

"But Mary's had that way before Faith arrived here. She recovered it from a pawn shop run by a demon."

"She killed Orme with it?"

"Yes, by charging it on demons."

"Hold on," christian interupts, "wasnt there some knife back in Sunnydale? I seem to remember Buffy used it at the graduation or something." Christian refers to a book. "Yes. Here we go. It doesnt say what happened to it though."

Alex looks worried. "Maybe its the war council."

Henry takes an interest. "Why?"

Alex shrugs. "Maybe to split Mary and Jayde. It seems to be a problem here."

Henry nods, "We need to get to the bottom of this."

Everyone agrees to search the UCB halls roof for the dog demon. This takes the rest of the night and they find that it fit's Mary memories.

18 Sep 2000, Monday 7:24am, Twins house

Jayde gets home and they look into her room. It looks exactly as it should. (How suspicious is that!!)

Jayde smells the cat and, "Yes! It must be the cat!"

Alex looks over, "What did it do? Levitate? Could it step through walls?"

"No. No, it was hunting round for non existant prey and...." Jayde lowers her head in defeat, "just doing normal cat stuff. Damn."
