Jayde knocks on the front door of the student house one evening, just as Casey's about to whup Neo's high score in Tetris (or somesuch). Casey answers the door.

"So Casey, gotta minute?"

Casey blinks. "Er, sure. Um, you wanna come in?"

"Thanks" Jayde grabs the best spot on the couch and glares at anyone else in the room until they leave. Given it's just Neo, this takes exactly 5 seconds.

"You and Faith were pretty close, right?"

Casey considers this for a moment. "Sort of. Physically, sure, and once or twice in other ways too. We talked a lot anway. What's up?"

"Do you know where she is now? She's left us with a pile of her crap to clean up and I'm less than impressed."

Casey looks at Jayde for a long moment. "No. I haven't really spoken to her since the whole thing under the uni. We had a disagreement about... some things."

Jayde raises an eyebrow, "What things?"

Casey stares right at Jayde. "Using the knife to kill people. Which I gather you spoke to her about as well. Although I don't think you disagreed with her."

Jayde flinches and loses her composure for about 1/23rd of a second, "Well I'm not here to talk about me. What else did you and Faith talk about; that demon woman?"

Casey looks fairly unimpressed for a second, an odd expression on his normally friendly face. "Mostly private stuff. She's really run off then? Something must have changed her mind about needing to stay here, and that was sort of based on not wanting the Watchers to catch her, and off you too."

"Faith has been spirited away, and I'm not sure that it's all to her ultimate plan. How am I supposed to look out for her if I don't even know where she is? I thought she trusted me but," Jayde adds pointedly, "I guess not as much as she trusted you."

"Ha. Don't be so sure of that." Casey chews one lip. "Er, from what Mary said, I figured that she'd organised it... but if she didn't...Dammit, she has enough money that if she doesn't want to be found, she won't be. Lets start from the start - how did she get moved out of the hospital?"

"That freaky demon woman! Who the hell is she? Faith signed her on as legal guardian, without even telling us her name and now she's disappeared, probably with Faith under one arm and a big bag of Faith's money under the other, back to her demon lords in god knows what hell dimension." Jayde pauses. "Or possibly not."

"Um, she's someone that Faith knew, er, before. I dunno that she is that interested in money. It might be a maaagic thing "Casey wiggles his fingers "but I don't think she has it in for Faith." Casey stops for a moment. "Hangon, who told you it was the demon that took her?"

"Alex. But it was pretty obvious. I don't think even Faith was in a position to get up and walk out."

Casey blinks. "So... what you're saying is that one of the Watchers, the people who Faith was worried were going to grab her when she was down, has told you that a demon, probably not too adept at paperwork, came in and took Faith from a hospital and vanished her."

"I'm going to pretend you didn't just accuse Alex of being in league with the War Council. Besides there could be paperwork demons, in fact that makes a lot of sense. I always wondered why red tape was red...."

"If there's one faction in these Watchers, its just as likely there are others. My point is that there's no confirmation."

"But my point is that we don't even know if Faith is working for the demon woman or vice versa. And now there are cops everywhere accusing me of everything just because they can't find Faith in order to blame her. I thought that you might know more about Faith's plans. Even if she did organise the whole disappearing act, we're still in the dark cleaning up the mess."

Casey blinks. "So - its not that you want to know where Faith is, you just want the cops off your back?" He manages to make it sound not /too/ much like an accusation...

"Faith's business is her own. I've always said that. But I don't think she's in position to mind her own business if she's not conscious. As for the cops, I think that Faith needs to face the music, yes. And for me it would be easier to do my job if I didn't have to dance around in circles avoiding accusations of bar fights, murder one and being a lesbian." Jayde is getting a frustrated tone to her voice. "So are you going to tell me what you know or not?"

Casey is a bit non-plussed by the last accusation. "Er... I mean, I don't /know/ anything per se. But... Ok. I'll help. There's some stuff which I can't tell you because I promised, but I'll see how much information I can get together. I'm still worried that it might not be what is seems to be - like, it might be the Watchers."

"I really don't think it's the Council, I suppose it could be rogue watchers, but if so where has Faith's friendly demon got to?" Jayde stands to leave, "I have to go chase zombies. Give me a call or something if you think of anything."

Casey nods. "I'll chase up stuff at the hospital too. They love papertrails, so there will be one somewhere. I can probably pretend to be a brother or something..."

As Jayde gets to the door she turns, "Oh, you don't know where Occisor Court is do you?"

Casey is sort of concentrating on how to get into the hospital, "7th Circle of Hell?"

"Yeah I thought so. See ya" Jayde disappears into the night from whence she came.
