Jayde storms out of Alex's office.

Mary notices the knife tremor slightly. She goes to pick it up, but Alex stops her.

"We shouldnt be playing with it."

"It moved. Im going to pick it up and see if its different." Mary picks it up and it seems the same. "Maybe its linked to slayers."

"Oh, I guess it has been used against a slayer."

"Maybe it was made to kill Buffy? Look, I can find out about it tonight. Conrad and I have a ritual..."

"Ok, but Ill keep the knife until then and I want to be there. Plus only if Jayde says 'ok'."

Mary and Alex have a conversation.

16 Sep 2000, Saturday 10:20pm, UCB grounds

Jayde drops past Casey's house

Jayde and Michael patrol and find, some snogging kids and some frat boys trashing a statue. Great.

Michael and Jayde talk about who this whole thing works. Michael finds it strange that the council arnt helping Jayde more. Jayde agrees.

Jayde spots someone in overalls hiding in the bushes near a dark point of the park. She watches for a bit but suddenly there is a russle in the bushes and it's obvious some fight is going on. Jayde rushes up to the bush and sees two people fighting, a woman in overalls and a guy in a suit.

"Ok, who do I stake?"

The guy looks up and he has vamp ridges. Jayde yanks him out of the bushes and he pulls the woman out too. Jayde stakes him and he dusts. *caugh* Michael is a little spaced out by that.

"Oh, oh! What happened? Did you see him?" The woman asks.

"Err, no, he ran off. Its not safe to be out here at night."

"Well! It should be. I should organise a protest! Reclaim the night."

"Yeah, during the day, maybe."

"Oh, what a good idea, a 'reclaim the night' lunch."

"Err. Yeah, sure. Well I have to be off."

"Oh, come in for a reading."

"?"

"A Tarot reading. I mean call first obviously so I can channel and clear myself. Hey, come back for a coffee or a pastry."

"Er, sure."

Jayde and Michael exchange looks and head back to Karen's studio.

"Im doing this Earth motif display. I was going to do the 4 elements, but I need to focus them one after another. Earth is the grounding, physical element, so Im doing that first."

"Yeah, sort of. But you need to do the others too. Earth is pretty boring without the other parts."

"Oh yes, I know that. But Im going to do 5 exhibits. One for each element and then one combining them. Each is powerful and important on its own and I think we need to get to know each of them, before the final display when we unite them and the presence and power of them all combined."

"Err, yeah."

"So, you seem to be an Earthy sort of person. Look, give me a call and Ill give you a reading of the future."

"I dont want to know."

"Oh, its not that bad. It tells you how things are going to be, so you can change them."

"Errr, sure, I have to go and wash my TV remote control."

"Bye"

Jayde and Michael leave, shaking their heads.

Jayde and Michael tests vampires. Michael says that staking a vamp is too easy and that it wouldnt be as easy to stake a human. Jayde thinks it could be because of the wood in the stake.

16 Sep 2000, Saturday 11:32pm, Conrad's house

Mary is studying the ritual for tonight and notices that her hand has stuck to the book.

"EEeeeewwwwww! Conrad! Is there ment to be skin on the book?"

"It could be mine. I was reading it earlier."

Mary looks closer and then sees the a small black gland in her hand from which web type stuff comes from.

"Eeek! Conrad! Oh god! Is this bad?"

Conrad has a look. "No, the ritual should be safe. Given the rate of change, it is unlikely that you will be taken over during the ritual."

"Im going to become a demon?"

"Apparently so."

"Oh."
