Mary does some reading up on Faith's psych report thanks to some info from the council.
Jayde gets out of hospital (yaay!). She goes home and then sleeps for the morning. At home she is naturally treated like a queen by Stella and David. Alex visits, much to David's unimpressedness. Jayde gets Alex to look into illnesses that make you pale. The specialist is impressed with Jayde's recovery and will bring a hair reconstruction specialist tomorrow.
Jonathan wakes up and chats with Dave and Susan. They decide to go off and smash the state. The plan isnt quite worked out yet, but it's a start. (and its away from the scary Jayde).
Jayde is watching movies and a cat scrathes at the window. It's black with white splotches. Muffy da puddy tat.
Jayde lets it in, but it's more interested in staring round her room and hunting something. Jayde eventually coaxes it over with offers of food.
Petra calls and talks about the nightclub fight. [Once again Im confused about this :), ah, no thats right... i remember now].
Sometime later Muffy seems to be stalking something on top of the cupboard door. Jayde throws a pillow at the top of the door and it slams shut. Weird.
Jayde lets her out and goes to sleep. The house feels slightly creepy and empty and Jayde notices for the first time just how big it is and how far away Stella, DMS and David are.
Jayde finds herself floating in dark black water and above her is all blackness too.
Her legs dont really work and she starts to sink down. She starts flapping her arms and looking round. Where is she?
A floating face appears above her and suddenly a hand starts to push down on her head, pushing her down, down, down....
She wakes up, staring up at the bedhead. Sitting up and looking round, her bedroom door is slightly open and there is a light shining down from the hall. The house is very very very quiet. There seems to be no sound from inside or outside. Weird. Jayde rolls over and goes back to sleep.
Jayde gets breakfast and checks the news. Oh look, jonathan's house has burnt down.
The medical specialist rolls up and takes a quick look. The wig specialise spends the rest of the day. [1 week till its ready]
Mary finishes classes and goes off to see if she can find Conrad. She goes to his house and knocks at the door. Eventually a horribly burned Conrad comes to the door.
Mary helps Conrad with some burns treatments and then they look at the knife's magic.
David chats with Jayde over dinner. He's a bit worried that 'saving the world' seems so dangerous. He wants to help but Jayde cant say how.
Muffy wins a cat fight on the balcony and wakes Jayde up but she eventually goes back to sleep.
Jayde has lunch with DMS who wishes her and Gemma the best. He asks about the fire, too, but nothing new comes out.
Jayde goes to the mall, but it doesnt seem to call her any more (maybe it's the hair).
Jayde visits Gemma, but she's still unconcious. Jayde talks to her and tells her how boring life is without someone to argue with and how empty the house is. Jayde sighs whistfully and notices Gemma's hair. She tells her about Zarton, or Muffy, she's not sure what to call the puddy tat. Talking to Gemma and not arguing wigs Jayde so she leaves.
She goes to visit Faith, but notices someone else in the bed. Phew that was almost embarrasing. She slimes up to the nurse and manages to smart talk her way into getting Faith's transfer address out of her.
Mary visits Conrad again and chats about the 'Dragonscale' blade. The handle is made of a dragon scale so its great for binding magic into. There are some markings on the knife and Mary and Conrad work out a way to peek at the knife.
"Sadly," Conrad comments, "it isnt charged or might be able to heal with it."
"Errr, yeah." says Mary uncomfortably.
Savid looks into Faith's new hospital. Faith is there but is about to be transferred again.
Jayde rings Alex, who offers, "It's Faith's demonic friend..."
"Blinky" corrects Jayde.
"Err, yeah, Blinky is taking her. I havnt told Henry yet because Faith didnt want Watchers involved, but I dont think Henry is going to let a demon take a Slayer."
Jayde offers, "I think that its ok, it's Faiths plan. I mean yeah, we shouldnt get involved unless we have to. I certainly dont want to grab her or anything, but Id like to know where she was."
"Ill talk to Henry and see if we can get the Watchers to just keep track of her."
"Ok."
Jayde is bored now.
Chatting to her dad, she finds that, "The police want to talk to you as soon as possible about the night club thing. The sooner we get this cleared the better. Is tomorow ok?"
"Er, yeah. This isnt the sort of antiboredom thing I was looking for. *sigh*"
Mary brings the knife and two little rats she bought from a pet shop to Conrads. She magic's up and looks at the aura of the knife. She can see multiple aura's of magic around the knife and her own aura slowly draining into the knife.
Mary pulls out a mouse and cuts it's head off with the knife, watching as a small spark travels down the blade of the knife into the handle.
Mary pulls out the second mouse, which panics once it's pinned to the table ontop of the blood of the other mouse. Mary cut's again and a brighter spart runs down the blade.
"Oh, did you see that. It was bigger. That means... that means... eeeeeew!!!!!" Mary states.
"Interesting" adds Conrad, Spocklike.
Taking the knifeand heading back to Halls, Mary feels like she's being watched.
Mary, knife in her backpack, goes to her classes. She resists the temptation to slide the bag across the aura of the annoying guy next to her in class.
The world's whaling fleet runs into some fire and insurance problems.
"It was 'Im conserned I may kill everyone here unless you entertain me'" "Again with the paraphrasing." -- Richard and Ken
