Betrayal...

People bicker over Conrad's discovery. What will it all mean? Who is gunna get it?

Conrad offers: "We should do the binding anyway we should have 6-8 hours to make our decision on what to do."

"Yeah, but one of us is going to die!"

"True, but the demon will be bound and we can decide what to do with it."

"Hmm."

Alex looks ashamed. Conrad goes off to find the portal. People weapon up.

10 Sep 2000, Sunday 6:38am, Berkeley library

Conrad walks over and indicates a wall in the library with graphiti on it. There is a picture on the wall of a door. He starts to chant and the door starts to appear.

Mary and Jonathan go and lock the doors to keep the vamps out. [Thats going to stop them for atleast 3 seconds].

The door opens and there is a small tunnel down under the library. People crawl down the tunnel, Jayde, Mary, Gemma, Jonathan, Rose, Alex, Conrad.

They reach a black wall and Jayde goes through, followed by the others.

They come out into a square room with a magic circle on the floor. "Whats this?"

"Portal." answers Conrad.

"Where's the door out?" asks Jonathan.

"Obviously it needs to be opened by someone."

"Least of our problems." snaps Jayde.

There are 8 big statues. Two on wach of 4 doors in the walls. Each pair is a male and a female, one pair holds a burning flame, another with a water flowing from bowls in their hands, an other pair have cupped hands and the last pair hold a gem in their hands.

People head for the fire door and open it. Looking in they see a woman in a pool of blood just inside. Mary runs over, but the woman has lost a lot of blood. Mary thinks about helping her, but decides not to endanger the ritual.

Looking in further, the room is large and round, with a magic circle on the floor. Inside on the left, a man has already been sacrificed. To the right, Arden pulls the knife out of the third victim who falls to the ground with a moan.

Arden heads over to the last victim who is staring out zoned out. One of the robed people reaches out and pulls the last victim into the circle and she starts screaming. Arden looks confused, he looks to the screaming sacrifice girl and then to the woman in the circle and then looks over to see the scoobies running into the room.

The scoobies start to enter the room and start their chant. Mary heads over to the victim on the right. Jonathan heads out to the recently stabbed guy. Gemma and Alex head over towards Arden. Conrad starts chanting and Jayde and Rose close and bolt the doors as vamps appear on the other side.

*bangbangbang* Gun shots? Jayde braces the door as the vamps start pounding it in.

Jonathan backs away from the stabbed guy at his feet and consentrates on chanting.

Mary is consentrating on the chanting (and her maths homework).

Alexs start chanting too and Gemma explains to Arden that their ritual doesnt need to kill anyone and so let them finsihed it. Ardens friends put themselves in a holding pattern. Arden explains that he tried his binding ritual last night but that the demon bound itself into the last sacrifice instead of being bound. Doh!

The vamps start to break through. Jayde snaps a shot into Orme's head and he goes down. She then turns to face three 3 and Conrad shoots one and fights another. Move vamps. Rose backs away. Jonathan tries not to thing about it.

The lady in the circle (who isnt Faith's demon friend, doh, I should have made that more clear) looks at Gemma and speaks to her "Join me. We can both be free. I can take you to your mother."

"No." snaps Gemma and resumes chanting. Looking to the sacrifice girl, she shouts "Run!" The girl runs, but the firelady just flows after her and drags her back to the center of the circle.

Jayde's crossbow bolt has distracted the vamps and Faith and her friend break free, also releasing Casey. Faith takes on the heap of vamps and her friend starts to roast one of the vamps. Casey shoots lots of bullets into orme and jumps up and down on him.

Having used all the bullets, Casey runs away to a random room and locks the door behind himself, only to be nervous as he realises its full of water and watching the water lapping, lapping towards his soul.

Back in the room, the waves of vamps are pushing Jayde back. Rose is backing away too and runs under a torch on the wall, which is oddly static and demon like in shape. The fire reaches down for Rose who squeels and runs up to Jonathan. Jonathan keeps chanting and ignoring everything. [get off my shoes]. Jonathan pushes Rose towards Alex, Gemma and Arden and flamedemon girl.

"Join me and we can combine. Have the power of both of our forms."

"Let her go." says Gemma, indicating the sacrifice girl.

The sacrifice girl is slid back and thrown out the door to this room (and into the vamp fight). Firedemon girl extends her hand, but Gemma refuses. She looks over to Rose who has just noticed the fire in firegirls eyes and is looking terrorfied. The firelady smiles. "The chosen, they are all here!"

Speaking mentally to Gemma, Jonathan, Rose, Mary and Jayde, she says, "Join me and my immortality and powers will be yours,...."

• [Gemma] combined with your access to the spirits.
• [Jonathan] you shall have whatever it is you want.
• [Rose] you shall finally conquer what you fear.
• [Mary] I have been alive since history, and I have seen it all and so shall you
• [Jayde] and your slayers body shall be yours forever.

Gemma and Jonathan go to step forward. Jayde keeps flipping vamps and Rose is terrorfied. Mary hesitates but stays still.

Orme enters the room, but Faith tackles him into the circle. Neither of them explode, but they keep fighting. Faith with the knife and Orme with the sword.

Jayde see's Gemma go to step forward and points the crossbow at her, ready to fire. Rose starts to run over to Jonathan.

Gemma stops from stepping in, but Jonathan does and Rose dives in too. The firelady pulls them both to her and they seem to be communicating.

"Join me!" the fire lady asks.

"Sure" says jonathan.

"But.. but she's evil! We're ment to stop her?!" says Rose.

"She's not evil. Listen to her. She's fire, she's not evil." Jonathan replies.

"But.. but.." Rose mutters

"Im in!" says jonathan and the fire lady smiles.

Faith is fighting a losing battle against Orme's superior reach.

Jayde is about finished clearing the vamps out.

Gemma turns to Arden who looks confused.

Fire leady reaches out and touches Jonathans head and then starts to burn. The fire burns forward down her arms and into Jonathan's eyes and nose and mouth. He looks suddenly in pain.

Faith, steps from the defensive onto the attach and plunges the knife into Orme's heart. Orme dusts and Faith falls to the floor, a sword through her chest.

Jayde rushes up to Faith.

Arden looks to Gemma "The demon..."

Gemma finishes the sentence "...its in him now."

"Your ritual?"

"Isnt complete."

"We need to finish yours then." Gemma snaps. Arden has the knife and he reaches out for Gemma. Jonathan looks over and Arden starts to burn. He falls to the ground and Gemma leaps on him, trying to put him out.

Rose runs away from jonathan and jonathan heads for the door. Jayde turns to intercept, aiming to put him down. Maim but not kill.

Jonathan sees this decides to burn Jayde. Jayde starts to burn.

Mary heads over to the door and gets Conrad's gun. She sees Casey and blocks the.

Jayde smells something burning and kicks Jonathan, knocking him down. She elbows up and catches him in the face. He falls. Jayde bursts into flame and starts screaming as her hair starts to go up in smoke. She just doesnt have anything to suit short hair.

Gemma grabs Ardens burning hands and plunges the knife into her chest, tearing through herself. Blood starts pouring out, covering Arden.

Jonathan lays on the ground trying to get his wizzing head straight.

"Burn yourself." says the voice in his head.

"No way!"

"I consume, but I can also recreate. Let the fire take you."

Jonathan thinks for a little and then bursts into flame, dusting like a vamp.

Gemma rolls off and slides to the floor.

Jayde goes out and rushes over to Faith. Faith is curled up, bleeding and weak.

10 Sep 2000, Sunday 8:02am, Various places.

After some panic and dusting a remaining vamp or two, the mumbling mages come and help. They start to drag people out and open the portal back. They help drag everyone up and get them to hospital.

Jonathan is gone too.

Jayde has burns on her skin and face and no hair, but that is light compaired to Arden who has some severe roasting.

Gemma has internal bleeding and needs hospital.

Alex is exausted but fine.

Conrad has some 'physical damage' but will recover, (thanks for asking).

Mary is ok. Casey is twitchy and seems to not be wanting to drink any water any time soon.

Rose is having a breakdown, because people started burning and Jonathan burnt to a crisp.

Orme is dusted.

The jonathan boot holding guy is alive and critial in hospital, but the other two sacrifice people are dead.

Faith and her friend are nowhere to be seen.

Mary and Casey split up and go looking for Faith (and trying to spot, but avoid Jonathan).
