And leading up to....

Jayde and Faith go sewer diving and only see some vamps self nuking. They kill one and then a couple more.

They chat to fireOrme and he wants to make peace until the Tophet spirit is bound. Orme has the binding ritual and he knows where the portal is (its inside the wall, but he wont be drawn any more on that). He says that the prophesy says that the slayer will be there. Seems he has a choice of slayer now. He wants to work together to bind the demon to stop it getting free.

The slayers decide to pretend to go along with Orme and arrange to meet him later that night.

Faith chats with Jayde. "You still ok with, you know, what happened last night?"

"What, the sewers?"

"No, the recharging thing."

"Oh. That. Yeah, sure."

"So what happens when the scoobies find out?"

"They wont unless you were stupid and left stuff behind."

"But if they do?"

"None of my business."

"And if, say, Alex, gets stroppy and wants to come after me? Where do you stand?"

"With you. Its slayer business."

"Good." Pause. "So, you need Casey for this little thing with the demon?"

"No."

"Cool. I dont want him round either. So he wont be in it then."

"I hope youre very happy together."

"*Grumble*"

10 Sep 2000, Sunday 2:33am, UCB office

People arnt convinced by Orme's offer so they hatch a plan. Faith will keep Orme and the (20-30?) vamps busy while Jayde and the scoobies go through the portal and makes sure the demon doesnt get out.

Hey, we didnt say it was a good plan.

Rose learns the ritual too, but is still scared of the whole fire thing. Jonathan is still planning on moving out of the city.

10 Sep 2000, Sunday 4:03am, UCB library

People research more. Mary and Gemma and Jonathan go looking round the library for the portal by using cigarette lighters and rulers to check the flame height to triangulate in.

Gemma finds an exhibit on the Great Earthquake and Fire. Seems a fire burnt out all of the SF CBD in 1906. Oh and it looks just like our little demon picture too.

That answers how big 'it' is. Its about 4km across and killed hundreds of people and burnt SF to the ground. Great. Jonathan wants to go hide in the grand canyon away from anything flamable.

Conrad comes back and comments on Faith's demon friend that she brings back with her.

Mary goes up and chats to Faith. "Who's she?"

"A friend from someone I used to know."

"Ah..AH. Is she.. er from, swapville?"

"Hey, you from Ovacam's dimension?"

"Yes." replies the weird nonblinking lady.

"Yes." Faith tells Mary. "Anything else?"

"Err. No. Thanks." Mary turns to nonblinking lady, "What do you really look like?"

"I have no real form."

"Ah. Thats nice." Mary backs away.

Everyone weapons up and gets read to move.

Faith takes Casey and her new friend outside to chat. Jayde sneaks after to listen in, but soon comes back.

Conrad goes over the magic spell and points out a mistake. Alex has researched the AluraBob the Elder spell to bind a demon into a person, not AluraBob the Younger's spell to bind it into an object.

Someone is going to have to have the demon bound into them. He says given the power of the demon, it will be in control of the host in 6-8 hours and will have consumed the host in about a week.
