Thursday 5:09pm, Geek house.

Casey and Mary are filling the house with about 15 other 'cool' geeks and trying to organise videos and DVD's for the evening.

Around 5:30, Neo rocks back and seems keen for this. Hey, any chance to show off the new toy, right?

Faith returns around the same time and just goes off to the kitchen to eat.

People start rocking round soon after. Soon people are draped over all the furnature and floor spaces as the room fills.

Mary and Casey are running round trying to keep people happy and seated. Faith pops out of the kitchen, "Hey, whats on? Movies by the looks? Whats on first?"

Casey does a binary vote through the vidoes - "Cult or normal?"

"Cult!"

Tosses half of them "Trash or worth watching" etc...

"Trash!"

Until he comes up with the one that most people wanna watch. "Grab a seat. Last drinks or munchies requests?"

The entertainment begins with hushed giggles and muched chips. The movie progresses, muchly comments are added at the high quality of the culty trash that is being viewed. The warnings about throwing food at the new TV seem mostly to be heeded.

As the time aproaches 7:30, the movie comes to an end and Neo stands up and starts collecting pizza orders with Mary's help. People demand drinks and other sacrifices so Casey pops out to the kitchen.

In the Kitchen, Faith and Andy are having a heated argument about 'Ninja's jumping up onto roofs. Andy is insisting that they jump down and then reverse the film and Faith is arguing that its 'not that hard'. "Hey, gymnasts can do all that leaping and bouncing stuff I've done some too. It can't be that hard." Faith turns to Casey, "You'd put money on me, right?"

Andy looks at Faith and then to Casey suspiciously.

Casey tries to sutooly redirect the question "I dunno about real ninjas and martial artists and people with training like that, but I'm guessing that the actors on the films do it the way Andy suggests."

Andy looks back to Faith, "I mean come on, to get to the roof, you to, what accellerate mass M, to, say 12 feet, against gravity. He checks his pocket for a calculator, but finds none. Where is Tony? I dont think that human legs could do that. Its just stupid."

Faith just stares.

"I always thought muscle tissue was pretty good because each piece pulls against the tissue around it, not like a spring? That's why those guys in the Valley were working on that biomechmuscle stuff?" Casey crosses his eyes at Faith and grins.

"Yeah, but the leg isn't designed for applying force in the..."

Faith checks her watch, bored, "Yeah, great. Look, I gotta be somewhere, 'K?." She stands and walks out of the Kitchen.

"Jez, Casey, where'd you find her?"

"Ninja school down the road." says Casey, deadpan.

"Riiiiiiiiight. Well I guess it must pay well, huh? Neo says the two of you are tight and man, I can see why. Meow." Sitting forward on the seat with a cheeky look, he smiles, "Well from your point of view, but whats in it for her. Geek groupy, right? Oh, or is it that patented Casey charm again? Man you owe me $50. She woulda gone for that bet, dude, but Ill let you off if I can come over Saturday and play PS2 on the big boxen."

Casey sort of shrugs. "Yeah, but would the $50 have covered the damage to the roof tiles? I don't think so." He grins. "I'm sure that Faith would love to play you in Tekken or something - she only started playing last week, so you might be able to get your $50 off her that way?" While he's talking, Casey gets the drink he came for, and disappears out the door on the last bit of his sentance.

"Yeah, good point about the tiles, altough she'd have to make it up there first. OOOOh, Tekken, eh? Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeexcelllent Smithers."

Heading back to the lounge room, Casey notes that people are debating the eternal 'wait for pizza' or 'start now and stop' question. Faith pops out of the bathroom and into her bedroom down the hall. Mary asks "Err, which vid next? If we chose _BLAH_ then we can stop it, but we just had a trashy one." People start shouting suggestions out.

"How about we decide what we want for pizza, then I'll place the order so that it shows up here at the end of the next movie we choose?"

"Cool!"
"Let the movies begin!"
"Hey, UPN is repeating the shadow war bab5 at 8:30!"
The lights dim and the next selection is chucked in. Silence decends.

Casey collects people's orders during the credits and eventually gets everyone's choice. As he's finishing, Faith taps him on the shoulder (#@*$ing silent people) "Im off now. Patroling and stuff. Order me a large with the lot and Ill nuke it when I get home, 'K?"

Casey frowns a bit and then indicates the kitchen with his head. and heads that way. "You don't wanna kick around?", writing her order down.

"Nah. I'm not great company at the moment. Aw, @*#$, I havnt been good company for a while, but knowin' that the Watchers are around just has me real jumpy." She shrugs, "I found this Imprinni demon lair the other week. They are sorta harmless, but I thought I'd go clear it out. Be good for a bit of a Uhhh." She pretend punches Casey. "You know, get my mind off stuff. Just zone for a while." She half laughs, "Should check on the 'other 1/2' too. I kinda got carried away and bruised her highness round the edges a bit too much today at practice." She smiles. "Oooops, eh?"

Casey nods. "Fair enough I guess. I'll defend your pizza with my life, like a good henchman." He grins. "Any movie you want to watch in the pile? I can try and encourage people to hold off till you get back if you want."

"Yeah, thanks. Hey, dont wait up. I think I'm going to be out patroling late tonight, 'K?." she answers with the vaguest trace of the 'wall' she usually has up when other people are around. Then its gone, "I can catch the vid's tomorrow I guess, but if you're going for an all nighter, keep the X-men movie. Ive seen it, and its crap, but its kinda a fav. Super powers, woe is me and all that."

Casey smirks. "No problemo. Take care, 'k?"

"Yeah, sure. Hey, slayin's the least of my worries." Faith stalks off into the night and Casey plops down onto a chair and watches the next movie.

Pizza, movies, chatting and general sillyness continue late into the night, but casey starts to flake out at around 11 to 12. By 12 he is asleep on a couch wedged in between Mary and a snuggling Tom and Lisa. Finally around 2, the end of credits music starts and Casey blerily opens one eye. A few people have dissapeared in the intervining time.

Ok, revised plan - write Faith a note "Flaked out. Exhausted. Curse this lack of superpowers. Casey" and stick it to her d door. Offer to mary to either run her home or she's welcoem to crash with me for the night. If she stays w/ me, then try and arrange for her bag, or something Mary-identifyable to be outside Casey's door :) In an ideal world, Mary won't notice Casey do this (at least until the morning when she comes out the door and trips over it)
