The Great Plot Trainwreck

6 Sep 2000, Wednesday 2:22pm, mall.

Hoshi and Jayde go shopping for a present when they visit Dustin. Finding nothing, but managing to purchase about 10 bags of stuff each, they give up and head off to the hospital. Meeting Dustins family, they nod at all the right places and give their concern. Hoshi asks if Jayde is going to be like in sales now, given her quaint(/queer, thanks rich) bookshop.

"Like a greengrocer?" -- Rachel
"Or a porno store" --Ken

Hoshi invites Jayde to dinner and stuff with Hank and herself, Petra and Hole, Billy and Lucy and then she starts plotting what to do now that Dustin is the "first casualty" of the group. "See you at 8, darrrrrrrrrling".

6 Sep 2000, Wednesday 4:23pm, David's law firm office.

Jayde drives into SF to chat to her dad. "Dad, I thought you should know, the soup kitchen thing is just a cover. Gemma sees dead people"

"Uh-huh. Its drugs isnt it?"

"Ew, no!!! As if. I wish. No she sees dead people. She goes looking for them and sees them all the time. Ive only seen the one though."

"Does she need any sort of help?"

"No, its fine. Its only since we turned 18."

"What does Alex think?"

"She sees them too."

"... in her researches into mass delusional psychology."

"Yeah, thats the one."

"Well I didnt expect this...."

"What did you expect?"

"Errr, I dont know, but not this. Ok. This is weird, but Ill talk to Gemma and tell her I'm there for her. You know that right?"

"Yeah, whatever."

6 Sep 2000, Wednesday 6:45pm, Pool.

Mary and Casey have a nice night out and swim etc, then dinner and a nice evening.

6 Sep 2000, Wednesday 8:05pm, Nice berkeley eatery.

Jayde drives home and prepares to go out. The night is dulled somewhat by the Dustin news. After that people all pike in to go see 'Bring it on'. The cheerleaders are scathing 'they are soooo, like, just actors' *muttered agreement* and Petra is 'if that was, like, really Miami, the sun would be setting on the other side because the sea is... is.. east..' *deathly silence*.

Post movie coffee's all round. Arrangement to go see Belinda on Sat'day and Hoshi offers to organise a card and present.

Hole and Petra go out clubbing with Jayde and the night picks up somewhat. Petra invites Jayde over for dinner next week sometime.

6 Sep 2000, Wednesday 10:48pm, Twins house.

Gemma stalks home, trying to avoid Jayde. She hides out in the spare room.

7 Sep 2000, Thursday 1:25am, Twins house.

David knocks on Gemma's door and gets no answer.

Gemma thinking that it might be Jayde hides under the bed in the spare room until the noise goes away.

7 Sep 2000, Thursday 2:49am, Twins house.

H&P leave Jayde at the club. Jayde leaves and goes patroling round the Berkeley city area. Going south into the more 'student' areas of the city, she gets the feeling she is being watched. She makes sure she isnt and the feeling starts to ebb. Passing the geek house she sees no lights on so everything must be fine. Yeah. Probably :). Jayde goes home.

7 Sep 2000, Thursday 2:49am, Parks.

Faith goes patroling.

7 Sep 2000, Thursday 7:43am, Mary in the shower. (because it always rings when youre in the shower)

Glitch calls Mary and blabs about his adventures.

• Newbie vamps kept in factory.
• Orme has plan for vamp paradise.
• Asks 'newbie' vamps if they know any human who can follow orders and not ask questions. 2 hours. Needs a human to retreve an object.
• Slayer. We arnt hiding because she's scary, but more so we dont accidently hurt her or anything. Orme said she was integral to his plans.

7 Sep 2000, Thursday 8:33am, Twins house, kitchen.

Gemma bounces in to the kitchen. Something is wrong when David asks Stella to give them a minute.

"Err yeah?"

"Whats wrong?"

"Oh, well its Arden..."

"The boy you are both dating?"

"We're not dating."

David sits down next to Gemma seriously. "I know. He's dead, isnt he".

"WHAT!"

"Er, or not."

"What did Jayde say?"

"Now isnt the time for recriminations. Just tell me whats happening. Now dead people..."

"Yeah, we see dead people."

"Who does?"

"Jayde and I. Alex too. Jayde hunts them."

"I seeeeeeeeeeeeeee. You see them and Jayde hunts them? You mean looks for them?"

"No. You know stops them drinking blood and stuff. There vampires. Mostly. Sometimes demons."

"I see well this is very strange and I want you to know you can talk to me about any of your problems.."

"*perky* Isnt that what we're doing now?"

"When did this start?"

"Just before our birthday."

"When you started working with alex?"

"Yeah, sort of. But its Jayde who does the Slaying. Its called Slaying you see"

"Err, now what did I say about bringing contracts and paperwork to me to sign?"

"*perky* Oh there wasnt any. Its like a birth right."

"Grr. I need to talk to Alex."

"*perky* Well im going there now. Want to come?"

"No I have some phone calls to make."

"Ok. See you at lunchtime maybe."

7 Sep 2000, Thursday 11:58am, Scooby office.

Gemma and Mary come in and meet Sir Henry Fitzwilliams who is about 150 and head of the council. Gemma starts talking about Glitch and stuff.

Jayde rocks up and gets the intro. Henry assures Jayde that he wants to help, but only if thats ok with her. He wants to set up shop nearby, given all the Slayers around. Jayde is ok with that.

"We have a prophecy that may be of import, but as with many such prophecys it is little direct use....."

'None but the beast shall lead the chosen to to the four, for only the beast, curled around on its tail shall see the chosen one. None but the beast shall stop and listen and hear the cry, the scream and see the pure heart of the chosen.'

'The four shall gather, 4 become 3, become 2, become one through death. The always one, each points of the circle. One bound to three, wanting to be free but never breaking free until the sacrifice.'

'The sacrifice, when good is evil and evil, good. At the sinking to the Earth & the time of binding, theh sacrifice must be chosen for the chosen one is inside, waiting to be free.'

'None shall know but the beast, kind as cold, the chosen shall listen, falling falling, her form as that of a puppet master, strings unseen, form the gathered crowd. From the chosen, the Chosen shall step, seen by none, for none have looked, save the beast who she shall follow.'

'Once the fires of Tophet are released once more upon the Earth, who could stand against the purity of fire, burning the memory, now lost, demons set free, as is the lamb, eyes burning, burning bright, a new race is born.'

"...which is sadly less than obvious. The beast would be orme, and he knows who the chosen one is."

Mary: "Are we sure there are only 3 slayers?"

Henry: "Well the war council did kill Faith twice, but only one Slayer has activated. History tells us that each Slayer can only pass on the gift once. Jayde is The Slayer, Faith and Buffy are also Slayers."

Casey pops up. "So whats the circle then?"

Henry: "There are many references to circles in lore. Casting the circle, the four points...."

Casey: "But Faith met some vamp who said that they mentioned the Circle like it was people. Oh and that orme wanted a truce."

Mary: "Did the vamp survive?"

Casey: "Dont think so. So much for the truce then."

Mary: "What about the fire?"

Henry: I forgot the reference for the session, but "And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart. Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there be no place" (Jeremiah 7:31-32) "Tophet" whose name means "place of fire" ( 1 2 3 4 you get the idea, just try a google search on Tophet with maybe burn or fire too if you want to get really specific).

Everyone: "Oh."

Maybe he said..."What about the puppet master thing... are we sure of Conrad?"

In which case someone replied... "Who knows"

At about this point, David, the twins dad, burst in and turned to Alex. "I have just been speaking with the heads of this department and it seems they dont recall you having assistants in your project."

Alex: "*gulp* Er do you want to talk in my office?"

David: "*bad bad Jayde voice, but at Alex* Yes, lets."

Jayde mentions talking to Arden.

Henry says, "You dream, he was sacrificing people at a circle. Are we sure he is a good guy?"

"Err, no. But I have to talk to him, he knows about the thing Orme wants." Jayde rings Arden.

"Just be careful."

"I can look after myself!"

"Yes, but the greatest dangers are spiritual or magical [or emotional, yeah], not physical."

The door bursts open and Faith steps in. She freezes when she sees Henry. Henry squeeks out "Faith"

"You!"

Mary, "You know who he is?"

Faith balls her fists and charges past a surprised Jayde towards Henry. Mary leaps on Faith, "NO!", Casey does like wise, but both hardly slow her down. Faith punches Henry over the table. Gemma rushes to his side and starts to help him up. "Faith he's here to help and...."

"SHUT UP!"

"*squick*"

Faith storms round to Henry again, but Gemma tells her to "leave him alone! He has information about Orme."

Faith blocks his exit and looks to Jayde. "Fine. Thats what a phone's for. You know who he is?! He's Evil!"

"Hey, people said that about you."

Faith looks about ready to kill someone. "Fine screw you. Orme's your problem then."

Faith starts to shake Henry. Gemma shouts "Leave him alone. Havnt you done enough?"

"BACK OFF!" Faith snaps at Gemma turning to Henry, "If I see any of your watchers around I'll..." she glances around "you know what I'll do. And I better not ever meet you alone anyware." She drops him back down and heads out the door, rather annoyed (to use some British understatement).

Casey smites his forhead. "Neo! Faith said Neo confirmed stuff for him!"

Mary: "Neo?! He downloaded something?"

"Err, yeah. I should go after her."

Mary: "Me too!"

Mary and Casey rush off after Faith.

Jayde storms off to talk to Arden.

Gemma waits to see what the fall out is with Alex and David and to look after Henry.

Jonathan just lurves soap opera.

7 Sep 2000, Thursday 12:42am, Scooby office.

Gemma gets Henry an ice pack. "There you go."

"Thank you. I'll always remember when my first Slayer punched me. I thought I was getting too old for this. You know having retired and everything."

"Well the war council did kill her."

"I quit the council because I protested against the war council." he retorts, "after all the fuss they called me back until this is sorted out."

"Ah."

7 Sep 2000, Thursday 12:58am, Ardens office.

Arden's fellow postgrad: "1st year assignments over there. Youre late."

Jayde: "Err I needed to speak with Arden."

"Yeah, yeah, sure. He's out. He'll be back soon."

Arden returns with cake and gets an amused look from his roommate. He points and orders, "Library."

"Tisk tisk tisk! I'll lock the door for the two of you then."

Jayde and Arden talk about what to do with the wall and stuff. Arden looks after "some bound spirit inside the wall. Or actually a portal to it. Its a family responsibilty. It would be bad for everyone if it got out. So why would the vamps want it?"

"No idea."

"Sort of truce to get rid of this Orme then?"

"Yeah, but team vamp doesnt exactly trust team wall."

"Yeah, I dont think my team wall would be 100% with team vamp either. *sigh* But I think we need to get this orme thing solved."

"Yeah."

"Hmm."

"Hmm."
