At the geek house....

Mary rushes home to spend some quality time with Casey. Mary tells casey about lectures and assignments due in and stuff like that. Casey listens with 1/2 an ear as he takes apart the DVD player.

After the DVD player is put back together with only 2 screws left over Casey seems to perk up and notice Mary. He actually makes an attempt to converse with her and even asks some questions about things that arnt in his immediate range of attention.

Casey suggests visiting a Jazz club for dinner and the two of them head off to the eatery for wondeful huge meal, some nice music and some fascinating chats about cabbages and kings.

Returning home, they are greeted by Neo who has some videos and they settle in for a relaxed evening of unsynced lip movement vrs soundtrack.

After the film finishes, people moan about classes and head off to bed. Mary bunks down on the sofa and the house goes quiet (well except for the hum of machinery).

Suddenly Mary is woken up maybe by a noise, errr, its just waking up mode so its hard to tell. Looking at the clock, its 4:03am.

The house is quiet and part of Mary's brain is commenting that a trip to the the little mary's room would be appreciated by atleast some of her insides. Pausing momenterally to recall the names of the major nerve clusters down to her bladder, may slips from the sofa and heads off.

The house is quite well lit from all the LED's that are on all the equipment. There is certainly enough to see any major things, sans detail.

Heading to the bathroom in question, pausing only to let out a large yawn, mary gets that creepy feeling that she is not alone feeling.

She quietly calls out "Casey? Neo? Faith?"

Silence.

She checks the front door but it is secure (and the lock and newly installed vampire detection hardware is all flashing 'clear').

Being reminded again of the call of nature, Mary heads off to the bathroom and ahhhhhhh thats better. Washing her hands in the sink and looking at herself in the mirror, there is a tired and bleary eyed mary in the mirror staring back. Behind her is only the empty bathroom and the open door behind her. Noone visible in the mirror behind her... but still feeling weird.. but... maybe...

Mary does her best to look calm and suddenly spins round to be faced with nothing....

Feeling a little silly, she turns and heads back to the living room. As she leaves the bathroom, something that was waiting outside leaps from the side and slashes across her throat.

Mary screams and turns to face her attacker....

Faith is standing there with a strangely unreadable look on her face. If anything, its curious. She leans forward and sniffs Mary. Closing her eyes and pulling back, Faith lowers her hand, idly playing with her finger nail as if trying to dislodge something from underneath it. Mary checks her throat but isnt cut or bleeding or anything, just welted slightly where the scratch is.

In the distance there is a *crashing sound of casey leaping up, tripping on stuff, faceplanting, rolling to his feet and falling down the stairs

Mary is backed against the bathroom door but Faith is just toying with her finger nail and not really paying much attention to Mary. Faith smiles, a none too reassuring smile, at Mary and says "sleep tight".

Mary gives her a nasty look, and bolt past her to whereever Casey ended up.

Casey bursts out of the bedroom and spots Mary running toward him from the direction of the bathroom. Faith is going into her bedroom. No obvious danger.

Casey is looking stunned and confused when Mary throws herself on Casey and ask "Are you alright?"

"Me, I'm fine.... I thought that was you... *louder* Faith, did you scream?"

Mary's eyes go wide and she blurts out "SorryifIfreakedyououtIwasreallyscared, *Breath* Faith crept up behind me and I freaked." Mary steps back and looks at Casey who has skinned his knuckles when he fell on a circuit board. "Oh my god! your bleeding! I'll get some bandaids."

Faith turns round and shrugs. "Yeah, sorry about that. Didnt mean to scare ya M. Hey, you'll be ok Cas? I gotta catch some shuteye."

Mary whispers "She look really weird a sec ago, like she didn't even reconsize me."

"Woops, yeah, I'm fine, no its ok, STOP." Casey grabs Mary by shoulders, "'s ok, spooky stuff happening, sneaking leads to adrenaline." Turning his attention back to Faith, he calls out "No probs, catchya later Faith."

Casey pulls Mary into his room.

"whatwhatwhat?"

Casey: "don't wanna talk out there."

Mary figits, she is wearing what she was sleeping in. "Ummm, should we go somewhere?" Mary seems to realise she is in shorts and nothing else and clamps her hands over her chest.

"Nah, I sound proofed my room because... er, nevermind why I did it, I just did."

Mary gives out a *nervous giggle* "What did you see?"

Outside there is a Neo like 'Errk!' and the sound of feet running towards his room. Casey looks round, confused momenterrialy. Casey shrugs and mutters "Meh, he'll deal."

Mary stamps her foot, "WHAT DID YOU SEE?"

Casey blinks and looks at Mary. "See? When? I heard a scream, that was all... you said Faith was being weird..."

"She had this blank look on her face. I'd felt like someone was following me arround the house, then somthing flashed past me neck, and I screamed."

"Errr. Are we 100% sure that Glitch can't get it, right?"

"Only if you, neo or Faith invite him in."

"Are you sure you weren't dreaming stuff?" Mary puts her hand to her neck.

"Theres a mark on my neck where she scratched me. look."

"Er, can you start again? She snuck up while you were asleep..."

"I was going to the bathroom, and I thought someone was watching me, so I checked around the house, and watched my back, no one was there. Then she scrached my throat and I screamed and turned to look at her, and she looked weird.... I just remembered, she sniffed me... weird."

"Was she sleep walking?"

"I don't think so..."

"Weird... er. we can drag a mattress into here if you want to sleep on the... um *looks around* floor..."

"Oh... um.. you know I could... well we could.." *looks at the bed*

"Er, yeah sure. I just didn't want to make you feel uncomfortable. Easier to grab another pillow than try and find floor anyway. Um, hmm. Weird. Want me to ask her tomorrow?"

The manga type cuteness is broken by a knock at the door.

"Yeah?"

Faiths voice. "Errr its me. I.. err..."

Mary squeeks and moves behind Casey.

Casey looks weirdly at Mary and pushes her onto the bed. "Sure, come in."

Faith opens the door and comes in. She looks uncomfortable and isnt really making eye contact wtih any one. "I should... err... Ah, Mary. I guess Im sorry about er, scaring you. Im... Er, ok?"

Casey looks at Mary. Mary asks Faith "Hi.... um Faith, are you okay...?"

"Was just, err, Im 5 by 5. Its cool. Its, ok, right? Us I mean."

"You were acting a little funny out there... somthing bad happen outside?"

"Im fine. Cool. No action tonight. Was watching that stupid wall."

"No zombies? no vampires? Cool, I guess."

"Wall?" asks casey.

"Yeah, some #@&$ing wall that the watchers have Jayde steaking out" snaps Faith.

"Weird. Um... given the time... um - you wanna go out and get some food? Or should we chat some in the morning?" asks Casey, looking at the time.

"Its a magic wall that blocks vampires and demons, but not Conrad or Tulicks" offers Mary.

Casey maybe looks a bit 'oh, something else'

Faith looks at mary and says, "Yeah, on account of Conrad being posessed by somethin' or other, eh?" Her body language is suddenly more defiant.

"What? I thought you knew? Its why he helped us rescue you."

"Yeah, 'rescue' (does the quote thing with her fingers). Do some experiments, kill me, take some notes and then 'rescue' me from the Watchers so he can have me all to himself. So he can posess my body instead of some loser #@*($&ing watcher. Yeah, I know about that, no thanks to Alex or any of yo..." She stops and looks around at casey then back to Mary and takes a deep breath. "Look, I just popped in to say sorry, ok. I shouldnt have scared ya like that. Are we ok?"

"Um I guess.. okay."

Everyone settles down to goto sleep.
