3 Sep 2000, Sunday evening, Twins house

Gemma and Jon return to the twins house after their abortive flat visit. Gemma digs out the photo album and shows Jon lots of pictures (which are nowhere near technically perfect and show an amateur hand with little appreciation for the interaction between dark and light.. and another thing...)

Gemma is curious about a picture missing from the album from around the bookshop time. It shows Leda, Brad, Antony, Harva and Cassy and the usual army of casuals who work there.

Sunday evening, patroling and watching

Jayde and Alex go patroling. Jayde finds one rising vamp and unsportingly kills it before it is out of the ground. Heading back to the wall, Faith has kicked Conrad out (probably interupting his research and making him grumpier) and talks to Jayde about ditching the watchers and doing what you want.

"Leave alex here to watch. You dont need to do this. You should be out patroling or resting.. anything rather than sitting in the cold, because your watcher tells you to."

"Its my destiny."

"Let alex do it if she wants to be so helpful! You live, what 15 mins away? 7 the way you drive. Let her call if she needs you."

"It might take too long..."

"Then sleep in the office. Its what, 30 seconds away from here?"

"Nope." Jayde is firm.

"Ah, whatever..." Faith leaves, grumpy.

Alex returns from the office and they come to an agreement that Jayde will watch until an hour or two before dawn (when it is unlikely that the vamps will start anything) then alex will take over.

4 Sept 2000, Monday Ultra Early Morning, patroling and watching

Jayde waits.... and waits... and eventually Alex relievs her and she goes home and collapses into bed.

Monday Morning, Twins house

Gemma gets up and goes to classes. Mary too. At 11, Gemma returns home to wake Jayde and search the house while David and (luckily, almost too luckily) Stella and DMS are out too.

Waking a grumpy Jayde, they bicker their way up into the attic. Opening an attic door, the discover a replica of Leda's appartment (but scaled down a little). Their minds boggle on how their Dad built this and when.

Opening another door, they find a private office. Looking at each other for about .1 seconds they start looting. Serves their stalker Dad right...

They find: the pink suit, financial details (they are rich, well duh, and it started with a large settlement from some hospital....). Details of the investments. Their dads will which they dont open.

Jayde finds some journals of Leda's and some letters that were exchanged between their mum and dad in their SF/LA days. David is a little, err, sparse in his writing, but seems to want to move to SF and look for a new job. Leda is insistant that she leave the bookshop and move to LA.

Gemma finds a list of stuff from about the pink/black party time. Mostly its press pictures and stuff and some nicknacks but Everything is crossed off, including the cat suit.

As they walk out, through the replica living room, leda walks through the wall/roof (from where the kitchen should be) carrying a cup of herbal tea and looks at the twins in shock...
