Inside the book shop. The twins meet Anthony (An-tony! An-tony!), Bradley and Harva who are the owners. They also meet Lydia who is the hired manager and is viewing the whole thing with some small amounts of fascination. Not present are two shop assistants, Sally and Richard.

The twins accept they news that they own something quite well. Antony tells them a bit about the history of the shop - it was set up as a part of Aids awareness in the early 80s. Leda had a 50% share in it and essentially was the driving force behind it, with financial contributions from the other three. She used it as a base for organising protests, dances, etc before meeting David through some legal matters involving Customs and disappearing off to LA. Gemma tries to do eerie magic things to tune Leda in on the evening's happenings but nothing happens and neither Antony or Brad seem to have auras. She then tries it on Jayde who notices the weird look she is being given and picks her teeth self-conciously. The twins spend some time browsing the shelves and, somewhat wide eyed, realise once more they are in SF, not LA.

Anthony shows Gemma round the shelves while Jayde flicks through some catalogs with Lydia. Anthony drags Jayde away from her kinky British rubber fest and shows them out the back where he starts to rant and rave about expanding the shop. "Oh we dont need all this space. We sell most of our stuff by mail order and special purchases, so we dont need it for shelf space. Lydia mentioned that maybe we should set up a web page and do internet orders or something and that sounds like a wonnnderful idea! We can put the desks here and a computer there and then.."

Bradley's pager goes off and he reads the message before quietly apologising and heading out the door. Anthony stammers something about the Twins having to come back another time and having a birthday party and welcome to the store.

Meanwhile Jonathan has had another chat to rose about digital technology and being able to edit pictures back to how they should be. Initally Rose was rather against the idea of tinkering with reality, but when Jonathan explained that things dont always come out like you hope she could immediatly see the gains. Jonathan spends the night alone in his bedroom with only a few color photography magazines, naturally looking for the sexiest equipment he can. :)

Faith is busy with Angel and her new paper work and ID and Mary is busy keeping Casey distracted.

The twins drive home after excusing themselves from the book shop. As they pull into their home they notice some light peeking through the air vent in the attic. 'Oh, dads in the attic again' they both think with a sigh. Pissed off with their dad they go and call him down to explain what the hell was happening back then and why didnt he tell them.

While they are waiting for their dad to stop his evil perversions in the roof, their mother joins them in the Kitchen. She is faded and confused and almost seems to be in several places at once (is that a clothes basket or something off just behind her?). She rants about time and not knowing where or when she is. They prompt her with a few questions and discover that their mother was bisexual and got involved in the gay community and that was what led to opening the shop and she left it because after a year of living in different cities she felt that David needed her in LA more than she needed to be in San Francisco. They were together there for 4 years before she fell pregnant with the twins.

Leda senses a presence and says she can see some of her studio (she used to rent it. It was near the bookshop) and David is sitting hunched over on the couch looking upset. Jayde goes to the attic ladder and calls up to David but hears nothing. She tries calling his mobile but it goes to voicemail. Leda talks some more about her studio and how it and David look just the same as when she left them. There are footsteps out in the hall and Leda vanishes.

The twins dad comes in and sits down. "What about the book shop dad? We just got invited there and told we owned a chunk. Why didnt you tell us??!"

"Err, well.. It was before your time really. Your mother and I changed a lot since the book shop days and, well I know you didnt know her at all, but the family we made is LA was way different from the bookshop life. Plus I figured that you girls are both not needing for money and the bookshop isnt exactly a record breaker. So I just figured that we'd all just leave it alone. It didn't really seem something you'd be interested in."

"Jeez dad, lame much?"
