Calgor demons

Origin

Named after the emperor Caligula, in who's reign they were first discovered by the Roman council.

Appearance

Calgor demons appear somewhat like a thin and weedy human in appearance. They have grey skin, black eyes, long gaunt fingers, a ring of teeth instead of a human mouth. They also have spiral, ram like horns on their head.

Known information

Calgor's are messenger demons. They work together to open portals between places in the nether realms. The work in circles and open portals between places.

In the hell dimensions they are used as a transport system for the more important demons who send them to open bridgeheads for travel.

On the material plane, they are often found around Mages who wish to contact dark powers because individual Calgor are easy to summon and can aid the Mage in summoning more of their kind and eventually having sufficient number to open a portal for a more important demon to gate through and deal with the Mage.

Once their job is done and the portal opened, Calgor usually gate back to Hell, having no personal interests or dealings in this dimension.

Strengths

Calgor's are masters of correspondence magic and translocation and are able to gate short distances at will as well as take on incorporeal forms.

Calgor's can magically heal if in the proximity of their brethren or an active portal.

Calgor's bite conveys with it a poison that is dependent on the originating realm of the Calgor in question. Most poisons can be treated with knowledge of the origin of the demon, but Calgor poison from realms of pestilence or plague can be fatal if untreated.

Weakness

Calgor's can be deceptively strong (depending on their realm of origin) and have no specific weakness, but neither do they have any great defense other than magical healing. It is suggested that the Slayer strike quickly and give wounded Calgor no chance to heal or magic back to their own dimension.

Many of Calgor's powers require the wind to function. This is true of their communication especially which is blocked by anything that stops the travel of air. Note that Calgor communications is undetectable to humans as far as our research shows, but somehow is carried by the movement of air.
