She is open to influence by clever players and through that, they can influence much. She also serves the purpose of keeping Munchkins in place. Not many people could defeat her in combat, because of her superior years and her high disciplines. A concerted group effort could probably take her down, but her divide and conquer strategy generally ensures that any one group will have supporters and dissenters, rendering it ineffective. I never had to fudge results in combat with Ingrid (except to weaken them) play by the rules, but remember, she is not stupid (despite what she may think) and her cunning will tend to keep her alive. Remember, she plans. \subsection{Influence} While Frederika's influence on the city, state, country and world are substantial, Ingrid has only localised power. But she has a lot of it. \subsubsection{Government} State government influence in the following areas: Water service, Electricity service. "To me, this electricity is but a marvel, to you of this time, it is a drug and coltrol of such drugs can give you power." Brighton local council influence. Melbourne city council influence, "lets fill in some of those ugly nosferau filled drains. Eeeeew! :-)" \subsubsection{S.C.A.} Society of Creative Anachronism, a medieval reenactment group. Ingrid finds its atmosphere refreshing. She has joined a group, which has split from the main society because of Ingrid's influence in changing its direction. She has the position as the chief witch, because of her ability at `illusionary' tricks, such as summoning and controlling fire and also as fighting trainer. She is moving the society towards Norse attitudes. She has blood bonded many of the members and seduced many more as rewards for bravery. In this way, they have all come to look upon her as the leader of the branch. She also aids the group financially. Most of them would join her and fight for her with little prompting. Remember, this force is trained in the use of swords and anti-vampire methods, thanks to Ingrid's continued use of Dominate. Keep in mind that their trainer is probably one of the best fighters around. \subsubsection{Crime Organisations} Ingrid finds criminal organisations an easy source of money. She often scans the city for things like drug deals, where she will appear out of nowhere, attack the criminals, take the money and weapons, drink witnesses empty, burn them to a crisp and leave, her clothes riddled with bullet holes. Naturally the criminals are reluctant to complain to police about vigilante attacks during drug deals. Many gangs are on the lookout for a vigilante, but few survive to reveal useful details and those that do generally rave about her horrid form or someone gang appearing out of nowhere (it appears as a gang due to her Celerity and use of Obtenebration). Ingrid also has reasonably close links with some of the darker criminal organisations, especially the gang with Walter "Weatbix" Frennali as chief hitter (see XXXX:jungle fever!). \subsubsection{Military} Ingrid with her like of fighting, is attracted to the military. She distrusts the Air Force, but thinks much of the Navy and Army. She maintains friendly (un-supernatural) links with a dozen officers in these forces, including an intense love affair with Captain Mark Webb, captain of a naval destroyer, who she keeps as an escape route. He is based in Melbourne, but would willingly come to her aid, even setting sail with a little persuasion. \subsubsection{Medical} Ingrid completed her M.D. at Oxford in 1902. Since then, she has taken a keen interest in medical things. As a doctor, she has access to hospitals and blood supplies. She often uses her medical background to being in victims of `accidents' who have lost a lot of blood. She has links with Dr T Royston, a medical researcher, with whom she is investigating vampirism. He has been blood bonded and can not speak of the research without Ingrid present. He is proud of his ability to keep secrets. \subsubsection{Supernatural Creatures: Vampires} Ingrid has much influence in the three main Vampire communities. \begin{description} \item [Setites] Ingrid is close enough to Frederika that turning her could be a huge asset. With their influence implanted already, they are sure she could be turned. In combat, she is likely to defeat most enemies. If she were ours, we could take this city. Priority: high. \item [Sabbat] Julian Knight is less and less interested in running the Sabbat, but Ingrid strongly believes in their cause. Were they to require leadership, she may step in and lead them on a bloody rampage, one that could easily drive the Camarilla out, decimate the Setites and may even be powerful enough to damage Frederika's plans. Note, if she did this, her focus would be such that it would drive the Setite influence from her mind. \item [Camarilla] Ingrid loathes the Camarilla, but is quite happy to eat away at their insides. Rene, is very popular with the Brujah and Anarchs. Ingrid has the votes of the Toreador Barrons in such matters. She is aware of goings on in the Camarilla and is ready to step into a primogen seat when the time comes. \end{description} \subsubsection{Supernatural Creatures: Werewolfs} They are all the Get of Fenris, child of Loki. They bring Ragnarok upon us. Destroy them, use them, but make sure they don't live. Ones who help fighting the giant/enemy must be watched, better they die for the cause. She, like most old vampires, is aware of the Umbra and Spirits, having been taught them in her breathing days. She carries charms similar to Frederika's allowing peeking into the Umbra. %---------------------------------------- \subsection{History} \subsubsection{Pre Embrace History} The old man sat in the clearing, staring at the flames of the bonfire. The little girl approached him, creeping quietly towards the white bearded man. His face, previously un-moving animated and a wide smile grew over his face. "Greetings, child." "Hello, Uri.", the girl said, "Freddy said I..." "Don't call her that. It's not very respectful." "Sorry. She said I could stay up tonight, as I am the night child tonight. Will you tell me a story?" "What about?" "Ingrid" Uri looked round in the darkness, "All right, child. Ingrid was born in more mystic times. Times when spirits and Gods wandered the Earth. A time of epics, heroes, tragedy and villains. "She was born long ago in coldest Sweden. In the village of Burfrost, Earthly home to the rainbow bridge that connected Asear with the Earth, if you believe that sort of thing." The old man, paused and gave a little cough. "Or at least one close by." "Her birth was a sign, a message from the spirits. She was born, one of twins. One twin was born alive, one dead and deformed. This was the sign of Hela, daughter of Loki, ruler of hell, half alive half dead body. "Children born thus marked were messengers of Hela, one twin served in Hell, one on Earth. Together, gathered those who died in bed. Odens Valkeries took the warriors in battle, the children of Hela took those who died peaceful deaths. "Hell, for the Norse, was not as it is imagined today. Heaven was Valhalla, when Oden feasted with those who fell bravely in battle. Hell, on the other hand, was just boring. Waiting. But no-one wanted to go there. "Do you believe in Hell?", the girl asked. "Umm. Not like that. Anyway, children of Hela, were feared. They took the dead to Hela's realm. They were accepted, as they must be, but they were shunned and feared. Who wants the Reaper in their village. "Thus it was with Ingrid's childhood. Adults feared her, children were forbidden to play with her. She was raised by the village rune mistress. Taught spiritual things, introduced to the spirit world (Umbra) and taught arcane arts. "But, as with Odens Valkeries, so it was that Hela's servants could be taken from their positions. If a man of brave heart would take them as a wife. Trouble was that most people who saw her out of the corner of their eyes, saw Ingrid as the half rotted servant of Hela. The feel of death, and an almost undetectable odor of decay followed these servants. "One summer (not much of a summer, given the location) a family moved into the village. The head of the household had retired from raiding and bought the farm of a recent widow (naturally Ingrid watched over the farmer as he died). Amongst the family, was a boy, a year younger than Ingrid who was fascinated by her. Never in his life had Swen Hagadson seen a Valkyrie, even if she did work for the wrong side. They became friends, much to Swens family's horror. "As Swen grew up, the closeness remained. Ingrid sent many farmers, their wifes and childred to Hela's realm, and Swen, seemingly oblious to the curse, stayed beside her. As soon as he was of age, he married her. The village breathed a sign of relef. Everything was going to work out well. "Almost." Uri shifted on the log. Maybe he had been sitting there too long. Anyway, he felt uncomfortable. "Still people were wary of her. People still feared being struck down by one who was spawn of Hela. Ingrids old teacher, has not happy to see her pupil taken from her, forgoing the spirits for a farmers son, even one who helped Hemdal in defence of the rainbow bridge. From her sister in Hell, Ingrid heard nothing, but she knew she would be furious. "Swen and Ingrid had 3 sons and 3 daughter. One daughter died in a cold winter, a son was killed hunting, the oldest child married a traveling salt trader. All in all, things were going well. She was happy. "The omens that Ingrid read in the entrails of the butchered animals turned ill and then the stranger arrived. \subsubsection{Embrace} "Known now only as son of the Falcon, the vampire arrived one night carring salt and other valuables in his guise as a trader. In a way, he was a trader, one looking to trade Egyptian." The girl turned from the dancing lights of the fire. "Thats where you come from isn't it?" "Hmmmf. Hmmmm, it is. Anyway, he was looking to trade wonders for his master's pleasure. The son of the falcon was fascinated by these barbaric people and he was particularly fascinated by this red headed witch with the mark of death around her. Where he came from, death was very important and red hair was the mark of his masters enemys, the Followers of the Dark hunter, Set. "The Egyptian smiled to himself, his master, the Treasure Keeper, would be most pleased with this gift. He finished his business quickly and left that night for this far up, nights were long. He waited 3 nights, then his men snuck back and Ingrid was taken as she returned from a visit to her sick father (who was most uncomfortable with her presence, even though she was married). "She was dragged off and the Egyptian, whos name is now lost, rushed back towards his home, but one night, Ingrid whose race were all warriors saw her chance. She slit the throat of a sleeping guard and fled back to her village. "Her husband was relieved to see her and things returned to normal. Atleast for 2 months before the Egyptian returned with a small army of hired warriors. They attacked the village and the people fled. They were allowed to leave, for it was Ingrids family the Egyptian wanted. No witch woman would make him a fool. "One of Ingrids sons was killed in the battle, Swen and a daughter was wounded and another son fled. But soon the battle was over. "The Egyptian took her life slowly, then he Embraced her. Ingrid was thrown in a pit with her Husband, two daughters. Soon, the Hunger came. Ingrid begged her husband to kill her, before she lost control and sent them all to the Underworld. Swen refused, "I shall not kill my beloved wife, and I know you will not kill me." "Hours dragged by. The Egyptian had a bucket of pigs blood poured over her family and her Beast took hold. When she awoke, she was covered in the blood of her family and their parts lay sprayed over the pit. Her will broken, she was staked, wrapped up like so many goods and the long jorney to Egypt began. The little girl sat silently by the fire. \subsubsection{Freedom} "Once she was in Egypt, she was given to the Egyptians sire, the treasure counter to those behind the throne. This man had her fed from his blood for a year, she was educated as one of the wives to a powerful man. She learned much, reading, history, ettiqueit. She knew she was a slave and did not resist. Anyway, he could command anything with his peircing eyes. "One night, unable to sleep in the heat. Ingrid walked the beautiful gardens. She saw a miserious woman in the garden." "Thats...", interupted the child. "Yes thats right." answered the man, poking the fire with his stick. "Ingrid knew her to be one of the night things, as she was, but this one was no slave. They talked late into the night and soon Ingrid felt her spirit return. She knew she must slay her master, so she started to train, to excersise. Feats of strength like the Norse heros were easy. She found that where the others could not act against their master, she could. His blood did not bond her. She watched and waited. "One day, with his other wifes at his feet, the Treasury man grew melencolly. His thoughts turned dark and sencing her chance, Ingred pounced. She overpowered him quickly with rending blows and started to drink his blood. As he grew pale. She sensed his dark heart enter her, his power flowing into her body. She spat it out. After all those years, his power drained away on the marble floor. "The rest of his wifes had fled in terror. Ingrid let her berzerk rage take her and she flew through the palace slaying everyone she could find. Everyone except her sire. He, she overpowered and took with her. Into the night, back to her land. "After a long long voyage, she arrived back in her lands. She had been thinking all the way back. She had killed all the soldiers in the palace, she had destroyed the dark force. She had won the battle. Maybe she was one of Odins Valkiries, reward for killing the little men who lived in the desert. \subsubsection{Valkiri} "Ingrid wandered and found her village after a time, much had changed. She approached her Rune mistress. The rune mistriss was unsure, but could see no Giant evil in her old pupil. Over the next nights, the two studied all the other had learnt. With her teachers help, Ingrid slew her sire and bound the soul into a sword. "She approached her village, they did not trust her, but they allowed her to live with the rune mistress. Soon, Burfrost came under attack from the Giants, and Ingrid with her new powers fought well. After the battle, she was accepted as a valkiri by the village and a messanger sent to Hemdal. "Ingrid spent a long time at the villiage, helping to defend it against the Giants and Wolfs Fenris. She learnt much, which is why she is like she is today. "Then what happened?" \subsubsection{The Sabbat} "Well, she lived there for a time, happy with her life, but eventually the Church and others of her kind came, and destroyed the old ways. She fought them, but they won. "She left her home country and wandered. Where ever she found other blood suckers, they were structured, with a prince leading the others. You should understand that Ingrid came from a place where everyone had a say. Her kind had parliment. Her hatred of the blood suckers grew. Where she found them, she fought them. They were not used to such violent ways, often she won, often she lost. "After a time, the Sabbat formed. Eager to join this movement, she traveled to its center. Here, she joined the fight to destroy the old ways. "She joined a pack with Julian and the two became close friends. One, a dark assasin from the East joined. He was aloof, but loyal. Frederika, the woman from that garden so long ago, joined the pack, althought her power and age ment she was not trusted. Later, as the kindred known as the Tremere grew powerful, they were joined by a human mage, Obadiah. "For years they fought and killed the old ones, they grew close, as close as shared Vinculum could make them. Eventually betrayal split the pack. Obadiah, growing old and desiring immortality started to take Frederika's blood from the Vinculum. One, the Assasin, detected this, and under Obadiah's influence, concluded it was Frederika's betrayal. In the ensuing reprisals, One, the assassin, was killed and Obedia fled. The sabbat blamed Frederika and she fled. Julian and Ingrid knew this was wrong, but noone would listen. Julian lost some of his will and cared little for the pack, so Ingrid took over, but she too was saddened by the spliting of the pack. Vinculum can be strong, once broken, it can sometime break the will. "Eventually, they came to a town where Frederika had fled to, either by accident or design. Ingrid, although so very close to Julian, decided that Fredika held the better path, and thus the pack was split once more. "Together, they wandered, Ingrid learning much of manipulation and leadership and Frederika having a fearless warrior at her side, feared little. Frederika grew fascinated by the violence and iron will of Ingrid and Ingrid came to appreciate the importance of leadership. In the modern world, strength was not enough. With Frederikas help, Ingrid became a leader. "Soon, they both started to feel the weight of years and they slipped into torpor. When they rose Ingrid, who had much more strength of will looked over Frederika as the Beast of Hunger took her. Protecting the old one in her weakened state, Ingrid cemented her worth to Frederika by proving her turstworthiness. Ingrid and Frederika then explored this time of machines together. Frederika was fascinated, but Ingrid deplored it. "After organising to keep in touch, they parted ways. Ingrid had bled a young man, who she named Remone. Together, they traveled Europe. Ingrid hated what she saw, her enemy had won and this land was in his thrall. This land was not for her. "She fled to the colonies and started to learn modern science and medicine, although it was difficult as it went against all she had learnt in her breathing days. "Soon, she heard from Frederika and the two made a pact to change things. Frederika started to organise influence around Australia. Ingrid worked to gain power locally. After a few years, Frederika came to Australia although she had returned to torpor decades ago. "In Queensland, Frederikas plans came to furition and the Leader was made. After some moving around, they came to Melbourne and Frederika awoke. Her plans ready and Ingrid happy with the power she had accumulated. Enough stories, its late. Time for bed." The girl walked off. Uri's stare returned to the fire, lost in thought. Idly, he played with the ring on his finger, his stare became lost in the flickering images in the fire. "Thats not strictly true, my friend." came a voice sweeter than any other. Uri didn't look up. "I know, my queen. But she is only child." "That may be so, but you should not lie to childred, and call me Frederika." "As always, it shall be as you wish." \subsection{Roleplaying} Be familiar with the path of power and the inner voice. Remember, social Darwinism. Remember she is a product of a time where life was cheap and people lived by the sword, when in doubt destroy, where possible manitpulate. Read and understand her possible tactics. Remember her merit of self confident. \subsubsection{Odd things} Ingrid is quite certain she is perfect physically, as a leader, but sadly lacking mentally. She wishes to understand the modern world and will aid anyone who helps her in this. She will also tend to favor companions from modern times. Ingrid does not like to use disciplines when fighting a mortals. She will use potence if outnumbered by 3 or more, and celerity if they use guns. She will use other disciplines to scare them, and in unusual situations, she will use disciplines to kill them. XXXXXXXXXXX clean up ingrid aND SEttites! She loves proving her superiority over other vampires. She respects Frederika, because of her power and Toby, because of his birth. She views David Stankey as currently equal but someone she can defeat, a challange. All others, she will push round and show her superiority over. She loves hunting. She likes killing Garou, the so called ultimate perditors, but also hunts almost anything else that is considered a natural killer. She has a woredrobe of lion and lepard skin cloths, aswell as some nice Garou fur boots. She is lonely. She is always looking for companionship. All her childer betray her (or such is the idea the settites implanted). Anyone who stands up to her and has strong beliefs (some moral code, especially one different to her own) she will respect and nurture, although if they betray her, she will be furious. \subsubsection{Disadvantages} Does not understand technology well. Ingrid (believes she) only understands technology up to about 1900. Ingrid knows of the importance technology and is attempting to understand it all (note some of the individuals she has blood bonded). In most cases her high natural abilities give the impression of skill. This is due to Settite interfearance. The two cloaks she have, if they are stolen, then she may be seduced and married by that person. Doing so would make her an ordinary mortal woman, (with high skills and stats, but mortal none the less). For example: \begin{description} \item She understands revolvers, but can only fire and reload automatics. \item She can drive, but not well. \end{description} Ingrid is being influenced from afar by Frederika's enemy at the Settite temple in Berlin. XXX:frederikas+enemy has been using Dominate from afar to insert doubts into Ingrids mind. Playing on her fear of being left behind in understanding of the modern world, XXXX:FRED+ENEM has stopped Ingrid `catching up' with modern things. Any accusations of Ingrid being stupid will cause her to grow angry. The word foolish will trigger implanted suggestions: \begin{description} \item "Dont be foolish" Ingrid will pause in her current line of action. After about 2 minutes, the effect wares off and she will continue. \item "Thats a foolish idea" Affects Ingrid as Level 2 dominate. \end{description} Continuing insinuation of Ingrid's stupidity over a number of weeks or months, depending on the frequency, will cause her to undergo a `crisis of faith'. Her path of Inner Voice rating will start to decline, she will become more and more neurotic over this time. She will trust her higher faculties less and become more and more instinctual (that is generally physical resposces to things) to ease her mental anguish. If her path drops below 6, she will loose her Golconda status due to mental stress, although she will regain it once the influence is lifted unless she has been forced to violate her path. If Ingrid is treated as superior, then this influence is decreased and she becomes more assertive. Her actions become more reasoned. Frederika can not detect this domination, because it has been such low level (small nagging doubts) over a number of years. She suspects something and when Ingrid becomes neurotic, she will start to counter it, although this will take time. \subsubsection{Advantages} Old and cunning. She has fed on potent blood from the year dot, and knows how to use it. Ingrid can call upon Frederika's Auspex and Dominate powers. Golconda (of sorts). Ingrid's blood does not fade in potence, thus when she drinks Frederika's blood, it remains as 5BP per point of volume. Collects egyptian \& viking stuff that she enspirits. Her haven is a literal treasure trove of powerful items, although many are malign. Has Rene dominated and blood bonded to almost a puppet type level. She has two cloaks, one black from Hela and one white from Odin. These grant her the power to take on Valkiri form and also grant her the ability to call on her spirit sister. \subsubsection{Tactics} In combat, when she hits, Ingrid does 5 automatic levels and rolls a minimum of 5 more. In very dangerous situations, she will pump up on Frederikas blood to strength 9, giving 5 auto + 9 rolled. She has a large pool to roll, so split actions. \begin{description} \item [Sudden death] Head shot, Diff: +3, damage: 5 auto + 5 rolled. Generally opponent is stunned for rest of round, activate celetiry and take them down. \item [Vampire Bait] Chest shot, Diff: +1, dam: go for shock so opponent can not spend blood. \item [Aikido] Throw multiple opponents. Diff: number opponents+4 , roll: dex (6) + brawl (5) (min: 11), compare sucesses to each attacker, if more, attacker thrown. \item [Obfuscate] Appear out of shadows. \end{description} When in a dangerous combat with a worthy opponent, or severly outnumbers, remember the following: \begin{description} \item [Blood] Spend lots and refill from charms. \item [Majesty] Presence 5, make them pay. \item [Horrid form] Vicissitude 4. \item [Shadow Step] Obterebration 6, to get behind or surprise enemy or flee. \item [Arms of the Abyss] Obtenebration 3, keep them busy. \item [Levitate and Flame] Movement of the mind and summon flames. \item [Night Shades] Obtenebration 4, blind others and go first. \item [Vicissitude 2-3: make it hurt] Grab some skin and pull. Punch {\em through} those bones. Block their arm and remove all the muscles. \item [Gelert] Summon your protector. \item [Shadow Body] Obtenebration 5, go to shadows and flee. \item [Frederika] Call on Frederika's power. \end{description} \subsection{Raw Numbers} \begin{description} \item [Name] Dr Ingred Swenson, Dr Hilderguard Gamms, Ingrid, Hygd Rottmansdotter, Helasdotter of Burfrost, the Icemaden. \begin{figure} \begin{tabular}{|lll|} \hline Name: Ingrid. &&\\ \hline Concept: immortal & Born/Embrace/Age: 244ad/273/29 & \\ Sire: Egyptian & Clan: Ventrue & Generation: 7th \\ Sex: female & Height: 5'10" & Weight: 72kg \\ Nature: Achiver & Demeanor: Bravo & Hair: red \\ Eyes: green & Haven: A Dangerous place! & \\ \hline Strength: 5 & Charisma: 4 & Perception: 5 \\ Dexterity: 6 & Manipulation: 5 & Intelligence: 4 \\ Stamina: 6 & Appearance: 5 & Wits: 6 \\ \hline Acting: 4 & Animal Ken: 4 & Bureaucracy: 0 \\ Alertness: 6 & Drive: 1 & Computer: 1 \\ Athletics: 3 & Etiquette: 3 & Finance: 0 \\ Brawl: 5 & Firearms: 1 & Investigation: 4 \\ Dodge: 3 & Melee: 5 & Law: 2 \\ Empathy: 4 & Music: 1 & Linguistics: 2 \\ Intimidation: 5 & Repair: 0 & Medicine: 3 \\ Leadership: 4 & Security: 1 & Occult: 4 \\ Streetwise: 2 & Stealth: 4 & Politics: 4 \\ Subterfuge: 3 & Survival: 1 & Science: 2 \\ diplomacy: 2 & archery: 4 & kindred lore: 4 \\ intrigue: 4 & mascarade: 2 & lupine lore: 1 \\ mimicry: 2 & public speaking:3 & magus lore: 1 \\ seduction: 4 & riding: 3 & history: 4 \\ dreaming: 4 & blind fighting: 4 & norse lore: 5 \\ & body alteration:4 & \\ & fire walking: 2 & \\ & fast draw: 2 & \\ \hline Callousness: 5 & instinct: 5 & Morale: 5 \\ Willpower: 10 & Blood Pool: 20 & BP per turn: 5 \\ Path Rating: 10 & Path Type: inner voice & \\ Obteneration: 6 & Thalmaturgy: 4 & resources: 4 \\ Presence: 5 & morpheus: 3 & contacts: 3 \\ Potence: 5 & corruption: 3 & influence: 2 \\ Vicissitude: 4 & flames: 5 & status: 2 \\ Celerity: 4 & movement: 5 & status, sabbat: 3 \\ Obscufate: 4 & elemental: 4 & \\ Fortitude: 3 & conjuring: 3 & \\ Dominate: 3 & & \\ Auspex: 2 & & \\ \hline \end{tabular} \caption{Stats: Ingrid} \end{figure} \item [Merits and Flaws] early riser, unbondable, catlike balance, silence, Golconda (of sorts), self confident. \item [Image] Ingrid looks in her late 20s. Much to Frederika's surprise, Ingrid can take on a Valkiri form. The stats are the same, but she appears as normal, except her cloths become white and flowing and she seems to have an eery, unearthly presence. Frederika is most puzzeled, as she can only take the normal Horrid form. \end{description} \item [Rituals and Magic] Ingrid was born in a spiritual world and recieved training as a tribal hedge witch. Although she has little understanding of the Technocracy she knows the spirit world is there and she knows how to use it. \begin{description} \item Servant of Convinent Carrying. This is a minitureised version of Splinter servent. It is the size of a toothpick and Ingrid carries it on her watchband. When drawn from its sheath, it enlarges to its full size and becomes a splinter servent. \item Princuple Focus of Vitae Infusion (ritual): 5 items, 2 ear rings, 1 ring, 1 ankle charm, 1 on necklace. Each contains 1 point (by volume) of Frederikas blood, each gives 5BP. (Players Guide, level 2) \item Body of Holding (ritual): \begin{description} \item A throwing dagger in her right forearm. \item In times of danger, she carries her sword in her chest. \end{description} \item `Darkfate', sword. Darkfate is the sword that Ingrid bonded her sire into. It has a presence in the Umbra aswell as a number of powers on the mundane world. \begin{description} \item Holds 3 blood points (by volume) as Princuple Focus of Vitae Infusion. \item Can drain blood from victim, roll (levels damage)(6) Each sucess drains 1BP and gives the sword one power point (as Werewolf). This blood/power goes into the sword, where it can be spent in a number of ways, as listed below. \begin{description} \item [Aggrivated damage] Spending 3 power point, next rounds damage is aggrivated. \item [Annumation] The sword can annimate. The handle breaks off in the users hand and the sword goes continues attacking the last target. The sword may be controled by the handle or the user may drop it and the sword will continue, itself. Their is a 1 in 10 chance the sword will change targets randomly at the end of each round. The sword attacks as a spirit in werewolf, with the stats given below, although it must materialise to do this. \end{description} \item The sword can provide the following disciplines to its user. (Note, these are not additive.) Celerity: 4, Potence: 3, Presence: 3, Dominate: 4 (as (user gen + 6) divided by 2 rounded up, minumum: 6, treat humans as generation: 15.), fortitude: 4. Also the Skill Melee: 4. \end{description} {\em Dark Fate} Sword, difficulty: 6, damage: strength+4. Powers of the spirit (Werewolf) Willpower: 7, Rage:8, Gnosis: 6, Power: 40, Powers: Airt Sense, Materialise, Shatter Glass, Blighted Touch (only on user with path less than 6 or weakness the sword knows about), Corruption. Ingrid has the sprit of her sire bound tightly in the sword, it can nor disobey her. The spirit has become warped and evil over the centuries and hates all life, especially Ingrid. It will offer anything to anyone who will kill her. When combined with someone insane and corrupted like itself, it can also use the ability: possession. \item `Father', Charm: The charm named Father is made from the bones of hte first Christian priest to enter Ingrids village. She looked into his mind, saw his hate of the norse way slew him. Then she trapped his soul in the item, with the aid of a Werewolf. Father appears as the holy item expected to the viewer (may differ). If examined VERY closly, it is made of black ivory, or pollished bone. \begin{description} \item Father can issue forth his spirit which will cause trouble, such as turning off/on safteys, locking doors, unfastening containers and making odd noises. To do this requires a bp to be expended by the wearer to fuel Father. By spending an additional bp, the spirit can be controlled (to some extent, it is always malevolent). A bp must be spent to return the spirit to the charm. If left uncontrolled, it will attempt to get the Charm destroyed so it can roam free. \item If driven into someones flesh, Fathers spirit takes over the body and it will drain 1 bp per 10 minutes, but give the owner control over the person. The spirit will always attempt to destroy the host and as many other people as it can. Spending a willpower point gives the victim a willpower roll dificulty Fathers rage. Sucesses give the victim control for 1 minute, but they may remove the charm only on 4+ sucesses on a willpower roll (diff 6). \end{description} {\em Father} Charm. Her mortal life was difficult, with conditions tough. She marrie d a second son of the village leader and had 3 sons and 3 daughters. Soon traders came from the South bringing fine goods and technology. One of these traders stayed with Hygds villiage and took a particular interest in her. The trader talked of fabulous cities and things of beauty. She listened and grew interested. After a week, he had traded all he could and requested that Hygd leave her village and accompany him back. She refused and he had his troops take her by kidnap her. Her kidnapper was Egyptian, she learned. He had never seen red hair like hers before and took her as a prize. On the way back, she escaped and managed to make her way back to her home. Upon arrival, she found the Egyptian at her village. He had attacked it by surprise and taken it. On of Hygds sons was killed and one of her daughters had been killed and another son was missing. Her husband was wounded. The Egyptian had a huge pit dug, embraced Hygd and dropped her in. As the hunger rose in her, the Egyptian lowered her family in. Not knowing what was happening to her, she resisted these unnatural urges. As they grew stronger, she begged her family to kill her before she lost control. They refused. Eventualy, her hunger over came her and she killed her family. Broken, she was taken back to Egypt and trained and educated, so she could be shown off at parties. She joined a host of other captured exotic 'show pieces'. They told her some of what she was and what she could do. One night, while morning her family in the beautiful gardens of her 'masters' home. She was approached by a stunningly beutiful Egyptian woman who said nothing, but was crying too. They didnt speak, but Hygd felt a new perpose. She started to train and observe her new master. One day, 13 years after her capture, he returned from court, exausted. He felt weary and Hygd followed him closly, knowing him to be weak at this time. He went to the top balcony of his home and looked out over the lands. Sensing his power over her lessen, she struck rending and tearing into him. Her fangs sunk into him and she drained his vite from him. After that was finished, she felt herself draining his life. She felt a rush of power, but she felt a difference in her soul. Hygd spat out the last of his essence and the taint left her. She laughed as he rotted infront of her. Chaos rained in the house. Taking this oportunity to escape, killing some other of the Egyptians more loyal servants on the way, she fled back to her village. Opon arrival, the older members remebered her from when she was taken. They were suspicious, she had not aged. She told them her story and they considered it. The eldest and wisest in the village told her she may have been selected by Oden as a Valkirie. In battles in the future she proved to be a most powerful fighter. After a few such battles, she made an empassioned speach to her village and she was accepted as a Valkirie. She searched for her lost son, but never found him. Fighting the wolfs and other enemys, time passed. Generations passed and soon, all who had known her were dead. Hygd aided her village still, but grew weary and started spending more and more time in thought. She grew to hate those of her kind, what kind she new not, but she was wanted to know more. Surely other Gods didnt have Valkiries? She left her village and joined the attack on England. She setteled their with her raiding crew. After 20 years she left and went exploring. She found other of her kind, which she now knew not to Valkeries. They were twisted and suspicious, they attepted to use her in their wars and fights. Many demanded thing of her and considered her nothing. Soon she was involved in fighting these powerful creatures constantly with a small band of fighters like herself. Killing and destruction became her goals and she became more and more skilled. Soon she heard of the Sabbat, who resisted attempts to control and organise. She joined and became a member of a close Black Hand pack. [See History of the Pack for more details.] \# Old Sabbat pack With the pack split, she Hygd soon noticed something wrong. The loyalty was gone. Before she had been interested only in herself and the Bezerk Frenzy she enjoyed in combat. She started to take an interest in the goings on around her. She came to the realisation that she must take an interest in others destinys to control hers. She left the pack and started to look towards improving herself. Almost as soon as she left, Knight requested that she join again, as he had found the Changeling. Hygd realised theat the changeling may have some of her answers. She joined and aided Knight in hunting. When Knight attacked, Hygd aided the Changeling they both fled. Weary and wounded, they both went into Torpor. Upon rising, Hygd considered Diablerising the Changeling, but felt that she could work together with it. Hydg felt the Changeling was talking to her mind and the two came to an agreement. Hygd would look after the Changeling while he was in Torpor and Hygd would be tought and trained by the Changeling. Hygd explored ****th century technology, under mental control from the Changeling. Soon she discovered she wasnt that interested. The Changeling requested the use of Hygd as a vessel to learn through. Hygd agreed. She casted the ritual and the two spirits swapped bodies. Hygd explored the would through the Asral eyes from Torpor. \# CHANGELING \# * Qualifications: masters philo, Md, PhD, DSc (20yrs old). Medical and \# science skills are in gentics and medicine. \# * Masters in Science, Phd in genetics and medicine from Oxford Uni, \# DSc in genetics and medicine from Queensland Uni \# These are the Changelings qualifications, gained via Hygd. After about 25 years, she felt her body stur and the two swapped back. The Changeling rose and they moved off to a different country. There Hygd aided the Changeling in her plan to create offspring. As the Changeling became more and more interested in the new science, more and more of the leadership and planning fell to Hygd. This she enjoyed and excelled at. Having learnt more she became an excelent leader. Soon she was given more and more freedom by the Changeling. Hygd felt happy, useful and content. Her challange had been found. She fought with Kindred in Queensland and was forced into Torpor. With the aid of Rene, she left to Sydney. Their she recovered and started developing influence enough to set up base in Melbourne. * Pretended to be a 'nanny' to Toby at the start. Faked a blood bond with Rene (her thrall) to take herself out of the action. * With Renes kidnapping, she took control and forced the Sabbat to the bargaining table. In return, she gained indipendance with in the Camarilla. Plans: * Gain more power and independance. * Keep Changeling safe. Keep Toby safe. Keep Knight from trouble. }
