Atleast initially. \subsection{Ventrue and Tremere clans} The Prince, the small Ventrue clan, the Tremere Archon, Primogen head and powerful Tremere clan are probably the most powerful block in the city. Argus, the prince, rules with a light hand, and this has defused any Anarch problems, as few Anarchs are willing to jepardise their position with the current prince. \subsection{Ventrue} The Ventrue hold influence over most of the important mortal organisations and also power of rule over most of the kindred too. \begin{description} \item [\fbox{Samuel Argus}] 8th Ventrue, Prince, Elder. Head of the Ventrue and Prince of Melbourne. Samuels rule is one of light influence. He keeps the peace at the price of a light hand on the Anarchs. By treading softly, he keeps the Anarchs in order. Argus's first major action was to discover an Anarch plot to kill his then Prince. He turned them in and they were executed. As a reward, Argus was given permission to embrace his love, Tina. Tina didn't return his love although the two became friends in a father/daughter way. Argus was also disturbed by the treatment of the Anarchs and resolved to give them a chance should he ever be in a position to. His live in Scotland and England went well and soon he was sent out to Australia to join the Kindred here. He soon gained importance in Melbourne and was made Prince after the dissapearance of the Toreadore Prince. He fell in love with a mortal woman, Nichole and married and embraced her, soon after becoming Prince. Together they moved quickly to cement influence in the mortal power blocks. They are blood bonded to each other and trust each other with their lives. In the course of their adventures, they have saved one another at least once. They don't boon each other, prefering trust. In the past 3 years, they have seen a lot, and made many friends. These include Lupine tribes, Anarchs and even a few elders. Garakan is well on the way to Golconda but dosent really realise it. Under his influence, the others are on the way as well, experiancing an amazing calm in their lives and more control of the Beast. The Prince and the more conservative Elders see the Riders as a threat to the Mascarade, as they are gaining much support with the Anarcs who see them as Kindred they can respect (out of those from the Carmilla). The Prince resently convinced the Archon to force Garakan to help in the destruction of Dr Juan, hoping to either force him to make a mistake or to bring him back to the Carmilla. As this failed, the Prince, with the secret support of the Tremere leader has it in for Garakan. The Tremere want Tour back and the Prince wants Garakan out of the way. \begin{description} \item [Garakan] 12th Gangrel, Leader Garakan is the leader. His quiet calm make and clear thinking make the others follow his lead. He has earnt the distrust of the Tremere as he has somehow broken Ryders blood bond to the clan. * He dresses like a punk, which often leads to confusion with Brujah. * He cares little for the politics that goes on in the city and is often known to disappear on his bike into the country for varying periods. * He is an odd Gangrel as he is acts like a Brujah. He cares little for the politics of the council and is disliked by the prince because the of the Anarch support he draws. * His longterm goal is to introduce the Anarchs to the society of the Kindred. To this end, he is often found escorting Anarchs around the city to Kindred events. He will favor Anarchs over other Kindred especially those interested in politics. \item [Ryder] 9th Tremere Eldest member of the Riders. Tremere anarch, much to David Stankeys dislike. Sired by Davies in 1940. Ryder's membership of the Riders has outcast him from the main Tremere. They hope to win him back and so he is still welcome to their cerimonies. Ryder is deeply indedeted to Garakan for showing him freedom. \item [Tour] 12th Brujah Tour is the trouble maker amongst the three and Garakan is always keeping him out of trouble. Garakans influence on Tour means he has periods of remarcable calm (for a 20th C brujah :-). Tour wants to just ride the world, looking and experiancing. Laurance was a collector of fine historical works. His collection of Egyptian pieces was famous amongst collectors of such things. After the toreadore split, he decided that he wanted nothing to do with either side, so he became independant. Because he stayed out of politics, he was not punished. After he has taken a company, he care nothing for it, but while he is taking it over, it is his sole concern. He used to be a business man who ran a stock trading company. He was embraced but became sick of the politics when he was ordered to destroy another kindred.
